Well, hold on a minute. I'm not gonna just let that go.
It's a rare disease that this particular person, unfortunately, became the face of.
And I understood you didn't want to come off as uncaring...but you did. I don't disagree with the gist of what you said, as it is kind of a tenuous nomination, but you definitely could've worded it differently.

Well, first off, I do apologize for coming across a bit detatched or un sympathetic regarding the issue. If there is something I can more specifically apologzie or re-word, let me know. I mean, do completely agree with you that she unintentionally and I'm sure unwillingly became the poster-child for this ailment. I guess I just put too much thought into the "yes" or "no" vote and got emotion involved... Like I said, just let me know what I can do to sound a little less cold, and I'll do what I can to sound like a little less of an asshole.

I would've just been a little less blunt with the "people die all the time" line. The rest of it I thought were fair points.
