Which was Vince's idea not Lindas, so that's kinda weird.

...of which Linda signed off on, so apparently it's not as weird as you might think.
I keep telling you guys she's making a mistake running.

Which was Vince's idea not Lindas, so that's kinda weird. The power of association. Could it be that Shane just wants to spend time with his family? I mean, Shane has to be pretty damn close to 40 if he isn't already, and if you had his money wouldn't you mind just kicking for awhile and watch your boys grow up and then maybe go back to work whether it's returning to the WWE or some other endevaor. Iunno, just a thought, and trying to be slightly less cynical than I normally am.

In response to sudden news that Shane McMahon confirmed plans to resign from his executive role within WWE, Mike Witt, a production assistant who once worked under Stephanie McMahon, sent the wrestling media a perspective on the situation. According to F4WOnline.com, that perspective has been heavily ripped by numerous past WWE employees and insiders.
Witt categorized Stephanie as the more down-to-earth and respectful of the two, claiming Shane had a "chip on his shoulder." He said that while Vince did work more directly with Stephanie, it was simply a consequence of the fact that she was more interested in creative--"had Shane shown any interest in creative, or had some solid input, there's not a doubt in my mind that Shane would have been running creative," wrote Witt.
He further labeled Shane as "overbearing," noting he was a "salesman through and through" and wanted to simultaneously be "one of the boys" and let everyone know he was his father's son.
The F4WOnline.com report says that numerous insiders dismissed the Witt analysis as incorrect. One said his opinion would be the exact opposite, several others disagreed, and only one was willing to accept the Witt side of the story.

The timing is a bit odd, but, as I said I'm just trying to be positive... I mean, I've always liked to think Shane had some more of a soul or heart than his father and sister have shown. I don't know... Maybe I'm just trying to find an excuse. Who knows, I'm sure we'll find out sooner or later why he has so abruplty decided to leave. 'Cause if he does decide to help Mama McMahon, we're all gonna hear about it because you can't keep something like that private for too long without it getting out.

Well, apparently Papi was not too happy about this

While the motivation behind Shane McMahon's resignation is still largely a mystery, F4WOnline.com reports that the situation was intense enough to cause Vince McMahon to go on a "complete rampage" the morning the resignation was announced. Even though most do not believe any sort of major family blowup occurred, the McMahon reaction does indicate the resignation was about more than Linda's Senate campaign.
