WWE wants Punk v. Hardy for WM 26

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE officials have wanted Jeff Hardy to face CM Punk at this year’s Wrestlemania 26 PPV from Arizona.

When Hardy left WWE last year, the impression was given that he would return for a match with Punk at Wrestlemania. While nothing has been set in stone yet, WWE officials are hoping Hardy will return to start the build for the match.

One issue surrounding Hardy’s return would be his pending criminal charges from his arrest last year and how it might affect Linda McMahon’s political career.


90% says this won't happen. Then again, I never figured Bret Hart would come back so what the Hell do I know.

you bring up a point. i don't think anyone believed Hart would come back. if that can happen, we could still theoretically get Punk vs. Jeff Hardy.

odds are poor, but it could happen.

Well, another difference is the legal issues Hardy faces like the article mentions. Hart just had personal issues from a wrestling dispute called the worst in the history of wrestling. Hardy could be looking at serious jail time, but he seems fairly confident in himself so this could work.

also, Hardy's problems are largely brought on by his own stupidity. there's no telling where his stupidity will take him, by Wrestlemania.

True, but Vince knows Hardy=buyrate. His biggest show of the year, he'll take whatever risk he needs. He's had Mike Tyson at WM before, how much crazier can you get?

i caught part of Impact tonight. Hardy's back with TNA, at least for the short term. that pretty much screws up the wrestlemania plans.
