The television was on and Chris Angel was sitting on the coach, his feet propped up on the table. Upon seeing the camera, Angel sits up and clicks the TV off.
"Hey, how you doing camera man?" Angel asks with a grin, "It's been a while eh? Yeah what can I say, after a grueling match like that, I needed some rest. Truth be told, my body was so banged up that it was hard to even get out of bed. But don't get me wrong, I was on my way to work last week but the big boss decided that I needed a break. While I disagreed, god bless her soul, I still feel a hell lot better today.
So what happens now you ask? Where does the Texas Champion go from here? I've been Bad Blood Champion to something close to a year and to see that title leave my waist, even if it was a purely business issue was painful. It was even worst that James Jackson, the same James Jackass that won the belt last year only to treat it with disrespect. It churns at me knowing that I fought hard, and I bled to restore dignity and honor to that fledgling belt only for it to return to the hands of the man who wiped his ass with it. I have half a mind to go out there and take that belt back. There were other guys out there who deserved it you know…That Versus kid and Straven. Even Matthews would be a better champion. Still…"
Angel shrugs and shakes his head in disappointment
"James Jackass as Bad Blood Champion makes me sick and even though I am no longer the owner of that title, do understand mate, if you treat it like crap, I'm going to beat respect into you."
Angel reaches out for a bottle of water and takes a long sip.
"But other things look up. I'm still Texas Champion. I came off my first defense, against none other than my pal Jack Clinton. It was a hard fight but in the end, I told you Jack, I was not going to let anything or anyone stand in my path. You gave as good as you ever did though and I respect you as an athlete and most importantly as a human being and a friend. We've had numerous battles against each other man but it seems that this week we're going to have another one, this time against Vader and Daniels. Now I know what you're thinking. Why in the world are we teaming up against these two guys. They look like they're ready to tear each other apart, let alone face us on the same page.
Still I guess this is good practice. Getting back on the saddle so to speak. I never really had a problem with Alex, though his path and mine seem to cross an awful lot with no consequence. Maybe you'd like to hang out, get a beer or something Alex?"
Angel laughs, then sips his water again.
"Vader on the other hand…some bad blood here and there but not enough to care about. I guess the real purpose of this match, this test, is to see if number one, I'm recovered and number two, if Clinton and I can still work together to even the odds.
First things first though, I'm fine. I feel great. I'm running on an infinite supply of adrenaline. And as far as my relationship with Clinton goes, ours is a bond thicker than blood. We know how to separate our personal lives from our professional ones and after all is said and done, he's still coming over for my family's dinner at Christmas and I'm hanging out with his during New Year's.
So make no mistake, we're going into this match on the same page, with no delusions as to our purpose and we will beat the team of Vader and Daniels. And once that's over, I can only guess what's next.
Maybe I'll hang out with those two new kids, Vince and Tyler. They seem like decent company. Or I'll pay my old friend Matthews a visit. Maybe I'll strap a bomb to James Jackson and light him up like the 4th of July.
Or maybe I'll go catch the A-Team.
Yeah that sounds like a great idea. And I pity the fool who tells me otherwise!"
With a laugh, Angel waves the camera away and switches on the television again.
