From Nowhere to Here
A Versus Vince Roleplay
Versus Vince
The scene opens in a backyard. The grass is green, there is a white fence. Paint has been scratched off the fence, and the grass is slowly dying. In the middle of the seen, is a wrestling ring. Nothing fancy, just a little handmade wrestling ring. The area around it is clear, no pedestrians on the streets, nothing, instead, there is just one young man standing inside the middle of the ring. It is revealed to be the undefeated SNW superstar, Versus Vince. His blue jean shorts accomidate his white tank top, and his lucious dark hair. The man who has gone without losing, who drifts at a low age of 18, stands in the middle of a backyard wrestling ring.
"This is where it all started for me. In the middle of nowhere, no assitance, nothing more than a couple of my buddies who kept getting jealous when I was booked in the main event in the first company we joined. They fell down the card, and all I did was climb. I got closer and closer to the main event and then I realized I was too good for that. Too good to leave my friends behind and head to the main event. So, I forced us all to quit, and I was offered a triple in my pay to stay. I didn't. I left, and we kept wrestling in this very ring. As friends. I'm not saying it was a good decision, because I could've made so much money... but it was for the best. We kept wrestling and eventually, people got word of me winning the uh... Midcard title of that company I quit, and they watched some of the old tapings. I got offered by the best indies you could think of. I always said, not without my friends. Never got one job offer after that. Word got around that I wasn't independent, and then uh... one of my buddies got paralyzed in a car accident... The other guys blamed me, and I haven't talked to them since. So, I found out that after I threw away so much money, so much opportunity, they would throw me accusations, and then it was over in all of our friendships. I knew I had to step it up, and I did. That's why I am in SNW. There is nothing greater than the chance to get back into the main event, in my eyes. It was a great experience the first time, and I'll be damned if It doesn't happen again. I will rise to the top of SNW, and I'm going to do it the right way. I'll do it the VSVS way. The way my paralyzed friend would've... the way I that little Main Eventing 16 year old Vince would. I know what I have to do, and I'm going to do it. It wont take anything more than a little hardwork, and determination, which I have a hell of a whole lot of.
Getting to the top of SNW is going to be my toughest challenge I've ever faced, and I had to decide whether or not to pull the plug on my father while he lie there, vegetated and scared, in the hospital bed. My mom tried to suggest things, as did my girlfriend, but nothing helped. I had to make that decision based on logic, and what he would've made me do. And I decided to let go, not of my father, but all the bad feelings I had toward him that were telling me to rip that life support cord off and never speak of it again. Once, I got rid of those thoughts, everything pointed to let him fight. Then I realized, my dad had served in the army seven great years, the the marines two. He had been fighting his whole life. Then I thought, so why should he stop now? Well, I figured, my dad would've wanted it to end by my arm then by natural causes. I had to tell them to let him go, and they did. My mom hadn't talked to me for a whole month afterward, and my girlfriend could hardly look at me without screaming and calling me a monster. It was horrible. But me trying to get to the top of SNW is going to be harder than making that decision, harder than leaving my first kiss alone at the prom for three hours while I stayed in the hospital with my friend. Harder than dealing with the accusations from my friends about it being my fault my other friend was paralyzed, even though I was three states away trying to pick up my girlfriend from her family reunion. It was harder than telling my girlfriend I love her, and then telling her I want three kids, two girls and a boy. Harder than telling her that I want to get married some day, in her home state. Where the annoying in-laws could tempt me with anger about 'stealing their daughter's youth'. I have another match coming up at Saturday Night Onslaught, and I want to win that match to continue my quest to the top.
It wont be easy, because I have to face someone who isn't exactly a stranger around here, he knows his way around the park if you want I'm saying. His name is Tyler Guevara, and I know how he is around here. He's called a lab rat or something, and I know what it takes to keep a rat in its cage. You use determination, skill, and above all, you show it whose boss. And since my arrival in SNW, I'd say I'm the boss. I mean seriously, two wins, who'd a thunk it? I know what goes on around here, but I haven't been here very long. Since just before 'The Main Event' acutally. And I'm glad, because without coming at that time, I wouldn't have been able to see Vincent Matthews defend his title against Soul Reaper, just a little while after I beat Allen Trebeck. I'd say that was a great night for everyone, but I'll have to step up my game to beat Guevara. He's been stepping around SNW, and I've been here what... a week? And I've accomplished so much. I'm not trying to say anything bad about him... but... I'm a damn good wrestler at 18. I know it, all the fans should know it, and I think the bookers know it now. So Tyler, watch out, because when I get you in the corner, or in my clutches, the corner or the clutches are inescapable. I am VSVS, and I am going to be the best. You best believe it."
As the scene fades away, Versus Vince exits the backyard wrestling ring, and starts to leave the scene.[/center]
