OK, just got back from seeing Lesnar fuck up Couture! ;D
Buffalo Wild Wings was too crowded, so we wound up going to Humperdinks after all.
Now as for how the results came about and general feedback on the RPs...
DISCLAIMER: If you have not read the show yet, read it now as this post contains spoilers.
Viper and Adriana Samu vs Williams Bros.GreenDragon had given his notice that he'd be taking a LOA, so by default Viper and Samu get the win. I do thank GreenDragon for still posting an RP even though he was leaving and really didn't have to, which was why the match-up was even.
-Viper, I liked how you advanced your storyline that foreshadowed the arrival of C-Pac and Doomsday, aka Kobra's Law. And you did a good job of explaining why Samu joined up with the SINdicate. The only thing I would say to work on would be being a bit more specific in your description, as I had no clue what building Viper was walking into. If it was the Grapevine Mills Mall, then it wouldn't make sense as there really aren't any "locker rooms" there, something that was used in the RP. Lastly, nice touch on explaining how a camera happened to be there.
-Jillie, I pretty much gave you feedback over PM earlier this week. Like I told you, stay away from breaking kayfabe in the sense that you point out that there are "writers" for the show. An alternate term you could use would be road agent or official, as they're the people who help to keep the wrestlers in line.
-GreenDragon, pretty good promo, although it was a bit rushed. However, I can understand the circumstances of you posting your RPs at work.
Noir vs Derek SitarDerek had not RP'd, though he did give notice that he would be taking a LOA as well. However, since he didn't RP and I was notified after the deadline for which to tell me you can't RP(not to be confused with the RP deadline), I did have to make the match pretty much a squash match, which Derek had mentioned was cool and would actually go along good with his character for whenever he plans on coming back.
-Noir, good debut RP, even if you did get the name of the show wrong.
Something I would've liked to have seen, unless I missed this somehow, would be an explanation of why the week before, your character was "dead," or if we're talking in realistic terms, beaten and left for dead. And thank you for respecting my request to tone down the excessive swearing. lol
Enigmah vs Criss Cassidy vs "Kid Thunder" Alex DanielsHard to pick a winner here. There was a tie between Enigmah and Cassidy in the judges' voting, so we went with the co-winner finish. This will give you three(yes, I'm keeping Alex Daniels in this as I feel there's great potential with the he-man woman hater's gimmick) a good angle to work with.
-Enigmah, kudos on keeping up the hatred on Hannah, staying true to the storyline. Speaking of, good way to keep your angle with Kid Thunder going. The only thing I could pick apart here is that Enigmah had no bad feelings toward Criss Cassidy and had nothing but good things to say, which is odd considering that Criss Cassidy was calling upon hell, fire and brimstone from God to rain down upon not only Kid Thunder, but Enigmah as well. If it were me, I wouldn't be so nice to someone that was casting judgment upon me.
-Now that brings me to Criss Cassidy. Darth, very good RP as always, though it did seem to drag toward the end. You do a great job of portraying your character, having him preach sermons for his promos.
-Ninja, aka ykmn, I like how you have developed the Kid Thunder character. Though this RP did seem a tad rushed and was posted at the eleventh hour. I liked how you practically disowned Criss Cassidy after having him for a partner at Natural Selection.
Omerta vs CyanideReaper was unable to RP for this match due to circumstances beyond his control, which is why Omerta won in short order. That's not to say that Aaron(emokid) didn't do a good job of RPing, because he did. We just have to be fair and enforce the guidelines of the efed. From what I understand, Reaper will be retiring the Cyanide character from here for now and just concentrate on his Soul Reaper character, and has given me his word that he will post a roleplay in the Character Development board this coming week so he can be booked again(more on that later).
-Aaron, you seemed pretty serious about regaining the Von Erich Memorial Championship, busting out three RPs as Omerta, even if we do judge the RPs on quality, not quantity. However, they were good quality RPs. While they may have been a bit on the short side, you did get the point across, and had a unique perspective for each RP. One of your strengths is being able to portray your characters gimmicks, and you did a great job again with three short, but strong RPs.
Hellspawn vs SilvusThis one really could've gone either way, as both Hellspawn and Silvus did a great job RPing. In the end, we went with Silvus as he edged out Hellspawn in the judges voting and from what I recall, Hellspawn had discussed putting over Silvus in this match back before Natural Selection. Since it was so close, I'm consolidating your RP feedback into this paragraph, though I don't know if you two really need it as I feel you're better than me when it comes to RPing. lol
Anyhow, I liked how both of you had your characters start their promos without their signature face paint, then at the end, began to put their face paint on. Brought a whole new dimension to your characters. Now something I had touched on earlier was keeping kayfabe. Note that when I discussed that earlier, it was when there was mention of actual insider terms such as "writer." While Hellspawn did mention that there was a storyline, he said it in a way as if to say "I made that story up to intimidate my opponents." Though if it were me personally, I would've put it like that, and not use the term of "putting over." But that's only a minor detail that didn't take away from the RP. In fact, I loved that you discussed the real story of Hellspawn and his parents. Reminded me of when Jim Ross interviewed Mankind and later on, Goldust, when they talked about how they went from being previous incarnations into their current personas at that time in their careers in the then-WWF. And Silvus, good job on explaining why your character "no-showed" for Natural Selection.
I also want to thank Aaron for posting an RP as Emo Kid. Dark Sun, the handler for Andy Lionheart, had mentioned that he would have extenuating circumstances, but I thought he gave an indication he could do one RP as Lionheart a week. So I will go through and book Stage 5 of the 7 Stages of Violence, the Devils Bunkbeds Match, for Onslaught Nov 23. If Lionheart doesn't RP, we do have a backup plan in place so that we can have this angle go the full seven stages.
Fawn, good return RP for Andrew Smith in the Character Development board. I can't wait to see what you have in store for Andrew. And also, a good debut RP for Mike Rutherford.
Stank Lovve, like I told you this week, good job with your Character Development RP. I do understand your circumstances of having to RP for four characters, so if it makes it easier for you, I'll try to only have one or two of those characters booked, and rotate their bookings.
I also threw in the angle of Dredd nailing Reaper with a DDT to the concrete to help advance an angle. Since Reaper has given his word that he'll RP in the CD board in order to be booked again, I've gone through with this angle.
In closing, good job peoples. Let's keep this up and not be content with where we're at and keep improving!
