Any fans of Mexico's AAA organization or people that may have seen the guy in WWE awhile ago or TNA during the World X Cup tournaments should be saddened to hear that Abismo Negro was found dead in a river in Mexico. The story sounds really weird, either he lost his mind, or somebody got him. Read up on it via the link. www.lordsofpain.net/news/1536.html

i don't know about anyone else, but this sounds like a cross between the Benoit tragedy & Dino Bravo situation. definately the creepiest death, since Benoit's death.

Yeah, I dunno, it almost seemed like he thought somebody was after him or something. But then again, he could have just been doing something that tripped him out really badly and he just snapped and maybe he drowned or something... I almost NEED a follow up to this story, but we'll see if that happens.

i also need a follow-up on this. this is one of the strangest deaths i've heard of in a long time. ranks up there with Benoit's death, IMO.
considering the circumstances, this could've been a murder. could've been a drug induced death, too. just too hard to call, currently.

I found it a little strange, but very tragic. I was just watching one of the X-Cup matches he was in. He tagged with Juventud Guerrera, against Teddy Hart and Jack Evans. Great wrestler.

Good lord, that's just a really weird story. Sad to hear the guy died, I don't remember him from the X-Cup. Hopefully we will get a follow-up to explain exactly what happened.

Perhaps a picture will do the trick? This was Abismo Negro (is his wrestling attire obviously)

Now I know who he is. He was actually pretty good in the X-Cup, atleast in my own opinion. It's sad that the world is losing all these wrestlers, from every country and company. It's crazy man

it's to be expected. between getting banged up in the ring, having to work night after night under the same harsh conditions & partying constantly (booze, drugs, etc).....things are bound to catch up with them quickly.
it's not like most industries, where if you get hurt, you can typically get time off to recover without fear of losing your job. in most aspects of life, if someone is abusing drugs or alcohol, it's easier to get most people help.
i can see why Ventura wants to have some form of union in wrestling. not enough protections for wrestlers.
in the last couple years, i've been seeing a lot of stuff (articles, various opinions from "experts) stating how wrestling should change. biggest changes i've heard of would involve wrestling becoming more like MMA, in regards to how MMA groups handle fights & shows.
