On May 30, 2007, the world of pro-wrestling lost one of its greatest wrestlers, bookers and promoters. Scott “Canada’s Greatest Heel” Anderson was the owner of Full Contact Wrestling, and later the co-owner and collaborator of North American Wrestling Alliance. His FCW promotion was responsible for introducing Canada, North America and the world to many of its greatest stars – “Everyone’s Favourite Canadian Lady” Adriana Samu, Rory Kotch, Petrina Rotchester, Viper, Venom, Lloyd Banks, Stank Lovve, Syco Boy and Dave, and countless others. On June 24, 2007, another tragedy struck Canadian pro-wrestling. Chris Benoit, one of the more influential and innovative wrestlers to come out of Canada, left this world in a tragedy that captivated the attention of mainstream media and saddened the hearts of everyone involved in pro-wrestling. Sadly, on March 13, 2009, yet another talented Canadian wrestler died. Andrew Martin, known as “Test” and “The Punisher” was days shy of his 34th birthday when his life ended. His career and life, and sadly his death, are a testament to the sometimes destructive decisions that the culture of pro-wrestling has made all too easy. On Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, pro-wrestlers from many promotions across North America have a chance to stand up and do something about it. North American Wrestling Alliance is teaming up with Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) to present “Weekend to Remember.” It will be a two-day pro-wrestling and music festival featuring talent from SNW, TNA, WWE, ROH and many other promotions, as well as music from Bif Naked, Our Lady Peace, Chris Cornell, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Fall Out Boy and more. All proceeds will be given to MADD and SADD to help get kids on the right track and keep them there – drug free, alcohol responsible, and in control of their futures. This is more than a tribute to CGH, Benoit and Test – it’s a chance for the wrestling community to come out and support the business they love and the people who make it happen. Competitors are asked to submit their challenges at NAWA: z10.invisionfree.com/NAWAfed/index.php?act=idx. The results will be posted at NAWA and a link thereto will be posted in this forum. You may need to register at NAWA in order to post there. If anyone would like to post this at their own promotion, please let Jillie know. Thanks, and have fun!

Rumour has it that Petrina Rotchester has issued a challenge to WWE's Miss Wrestlemania Santina Marella. Obviously, this would depend greatly on whether or not Vince McMahon is going to allow the WWE talent to participate in this charity event, which is being held partly in tribute to a man he has tried to erase from WWE history.
Adriana Samu is said to be working very hard to get Vince McMahon's cooperation after successfully petitioning Dixie Carter to grant the TNA roster permission to appear at the event.
It should also be noted that although WWE's Natalya has accepted Adriana Samu's challenge, it is still not clear whether or not she will be allowed to participate. Rumour has it if the WWE pulls it's support, Samu will face off against her long time friend and training partner Teddy Hart.

OOC: With Hernandez being out with an injury, maybe we should change the Sports Nutz's opponents. How about SNW's Young Gunz(Vin Sin and Marcus Ryan)? I'll email Vin and ask him. He's without internet, but he can email and what not through his mobile service.
If not, then we could do one of the Nutz vs Homicide.
From SNW.com
SNW wanted to reiterate that Adriana Samu's weekend shows will not interfere with the 4 Up PPV, as it is being pre-taped on June 6, and airing starting on June 13, with replays showing all throughout the month of June.

The Scott Anderson Arena in Vancouver, BC, is the sight of much activity today, as North American Wrestling Association gets ready to host A Weekend to Remember, a tribute to many wrestlers who have passed away before their time. In particular, this show is being dedicated to Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Scott "CGH" Anderson, and Andrew "Test" Martin, all of whose anniversaries are during the summer months.
Adriana Samu, owner of NAWA and member of the SNW roster, is very excited to be a part of such an event.
"I have been trying to plan a proper tribute for those guys [Benoit and Anderson] forever, and it has finally come to fruition. This show is going to be nothing less than fantastic, and a fitting tribute to all the men and women who gave their all for this business."
The stage where Nickelback, Our Lady Peace, Seether, Chris Cornell, Bif Naked and Earl Greyhound will be performing throughout the weekend has been set up. The ring is ready to go and being tested out by several of the wrestlers, who are converging upon Vancouver from WWE, TNA, WRF, SNW and the indy circut.
Samu promises a few surprises.
"We have some special guests that came to me last minute that wanted to be included in the show. And everyone will be impressed by the matches - there are some amazing matches happening this weekend."
The two day event starts this evening at the Scott Anderson Arena, formerly the home of it's namesake's promotion, FCW, where Samu got her real start in the business, and will include numerous musical acts, two days of matches, a meet and greet breakfast for some lucky fans, and a chance to see some dream match ups.
"I have been trying to get Natalya in the ring against me for a long time. I always have to settle with her cousin [Teddy Hart]. Finally we're going to see which one of the Dungeon chicks is better in the ring."
And the other matches?
"Seeing Ninja and Desalve vs Abyss and Styles is going to be amazing. And Xtreme Team vs The Hardy Boyz is going to be ridiculous. I'm so excited for this line up. The SINdicate will be out in full force both nights. Y Kores is also being represented against two TNA Knockouts, Angelina Love and ODB. It's just going to be an amazing show. As a fan of wrestling, I would do anything to get a ticket to this show."
All the proceeds of the event are being donated to MADD and SADD, organizations that hold a special place in Samu's heart. Her parents were killed in a drunk-driving accident when she was young, and her mentor and friend Scott "CGH" Anderson was also a victim.
"Most of all, MADD and especially SADD teaches kids in school how to make smart choices - we have lost so many people in this business because of the destructive decisions they had made. Benoit and Andrew [Martin] are just two examples. It's up to us to choose to live a different kind of life - to change this business. No one can do it for us. I hope that events like this will at least make people think about it."
All in all, this promises to be a great show. There are still a few tickets left for the event, but you'll have to move quick to get them. Results can be viewed on Monday night at NAWA.com.
