SmackDown wrestler Jeff Hardy has handed in his notice to World Wrestling Entertainment. He has three months left on his contract and is refusing to sign an extension.
It's being said that he is very burned out and looking to do some other things outside of wrestling, so there is a very good possibility that he won't be renewing his contract when it comes due this summer. This could explain his losses to his brother in recent weeks.
More details on this story as it develops.
All I gotta say: =(

I was wondering why they were rushing through such a big angle. Guess we know why now. But at the end of the day, all we can say is, look out that window. What you'll see are wrestlers that Vince can put into Jeff's spot.

burnout? did he run out of weed, again?
i hope TNA isn't stupid enough to bring him back. Jeff sucked in TNA last time. he's bound to suck again.
Jeff annoys me in the worst possible way. i hate him almost as much as i hate Triple H.

I'm not sure what to make of this. I understand the guy having burnout, he's been doing this since he was 16 professionally with WWE remember. Who doesn't get burnt out when doing the same thing over and over and over again, on the road pretty much every week out of the year. It gets tiring, no doubt about it. However, at the same time WWE never seemed to have a definite plan for him. They gave him the WWE TItle, ratings and merchandise sales went up and yet the next month he drops the belt. I don't really understand the idea here, if the fans love him and he is not fucking up too majorly(which he apparently wasn't, he had that one airline incident however who hasn't been there?) why have him drop the belt to Edge and bore the fans? I just don't know man

More than you hate ST Strickler and Benson? j/k nah, they're actually my personal favorites. on Vin Sin's point, WWE's logic makes no sense. Jeff had managed to behave (surprisingly). ratings improved, when he was champ. merchandising sales went up. sounds like a great reason to make him drop the title, a month later. yet, guys like Superman (Cena) & the Second Coming of Christ (HHH) continue to get title run after title run. yet, merchandising sales haven't improved with them (that i know of). ratings haven't improved with them as champions, that i'm aware of. yet, they keep getting their hands on the major world titles. this actually boggles my mind. not that i like Jeff Hardy or anything. the logic just baffles me. then again, Vince McMahon is still the boss. things don't have to make sense with him, does it? i suppose it would be logical for someone like Jeff to burnout all the time when he goes through the same crap, all the time, with no real reward.

Well, let's look at it like this. Whether you like the guy or not, would you not push the fuck outta him if that was what was getting you over with the fans? Wrestling when it comes down to it is a business at its core. When you are making money, you expand upon that venture to maximize it's profitability. While Cena and HHH are popular and over with the fans, they usually remain in the same standing with the fans. I'm not discrediting Cena and HHH because they both bust their ass to do what they do, but I get bored watching them always dominating the top of the industry. With Hardy as champion, I was interested to watch. I was happy to see a guy that I really enjoy watching and have followed since I started watching wrestling(I was 11 or 12 when I started watching wrestling, and I always marked out for both Hardys) succeed like I always hoped they would. So it mystifies me that we keep pushing the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and HHH, yet when a Hardy or a Punk come up and succeed it doesn't last. This might be more a discredit to WWE not handling their talent than Jeff not contributing.

i think this is why so many fans have turned away from WWE. this is a big reason why i can't watch the current product, anymore. too many of the same people (Taker, HBK, HHH, Cena) continue to remain at or near the top.....dominating everyone. at the end of the day, nothing changes. few people get the chance to break the glass ceiling.
when guys like Hardy or Punk take off, WWE starts to panic. it's as though they're afraid of the change that's coming. it's like WWE is afraid of taking chances.
i think Paul Heyman was right, when he made the point that WWE really has an audience of 1. that audience is non other then Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
