Reaper inspired me in another thread with his criticisms against John Cena and The Rock. So, not wanting to hijack the thread, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a whole thread for people to discuss and debate. You could provide a list, or comment on other people's picks.
Mine are as follows:
Big Show- Definitely a unique talent, being so large. However, like many overly big men in the wrestling business, he is very hard to vary his workload. All his matches look the same, because his limited range of motion and limited versatility in his moves. Also, he is somewhat a victim of circumstance lately, having to participate in programs with John Cena and Vickie Guerrero. Speaking of which...
Vickie Guerrero- While I realize her job is to be a heel, and by the crowd reaction she handles that well. At the same time, I don't think she's a heel getting booed so much as a crappy character getting booed. She has the voice of a power drill, and has really no discernible purpose being the General Manager of any show. Also, it seems like WWE is milking Eddie even after he died, which I really think is somewhat cheap.
Vladimir Kozlov- I really could just state his name and move on, but for those who have not seen him(consider yourself lucky) I'll explain myself. Some people hate the fact that people are all mic, no fight. This is the exact opposite, as he has considerable wrestling prowess but about as much personality as a used band-aid.
Santino/Santina Marella-Oh God, where do I start? Santino started out as a good character, but he quickly de-valued into a hack. Especially with this whole cross-dressing bit(which doesn't seem PG to me but I guess it is to trans-gender children should they exist), I feel as if those minutes he is on the screen that a superstar who actually has a good character and deserves the time could be getting and putting to good use.
The Undertaker- This might be my most against the grain pick, but hear me out. I liked the Undertaker when he was "The American Bad-Ass" and rode a motorcycle. I realize that his "Deadman" bit was big when he first debuted, and that's OK it fit that time period. However, here in the 21st century, his character seems to be overly fantastical and a bit dusty. It also lacks variety;how many different bits can you do with it in all reality? Plus, and this is a complaint I have with TNA's Main Event Mafia lately as well, the man is getting near 50 years old. Are we giving an advantage to veteran talent who may or may not be past their prime while forsaking younger talent(John Morrison, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy) that could use more air time due to their connection with the crowd? Just saying is all.
Entire Main Event Mafia outside of Kurt Angle- Sting, Booker T, Scott Steiner, and Kevin Nash need to get on that white horse and ride off into the sunset. Instead, they are headlining TNA shows that have a roster jampacked with young, hungry talent. I realize Vince Russo is a big creative person with TNA, maybe thats why I feel so drawn to the old NWO angles back in WCW when Hogan, Luger, and alike were running the show in the main events when guys like 3 Count, Chris Jericho(who got out at the right time) and all the talented cruiser weights they had at the time were getting 5-10 minutes. Plus, Nash is somewhere in the 20s on surgeries he's had, Booker T claimed he didnt want to wrestle past 40 yet he's almost 43 and still working. Scott Steiner and Sting, the steroids could get those guys. I realize Steiner has maintained his innocence and has never failed a test, but man I'm just really doubtful because you don't get a natural body to look like that. Sting, I have somewhat third hand knowledge that back in the late 70s early 80s he was going full bore into steroids. However, both are getting up there with the rest of the group.
Whose next?
