We fade in and we are shown a training session in progress here in Reaper's Dojo. There are a few students standing on the ring apron and watching whats going on in the middle of the ring. Reaper and one of the students are grappling and trying to get a dominant position. After a few seconds Reaper goes behind the student and lifts him, then drops him face first, then quickly goes in for the kill with the Cold, Hard Truth. The student submits and the other students watching start to applaud. They shake hands and then the kid gets out of the ring.
Alright, guys, lets take a short break and when you get back we'll do a few more drills and then we're outta here.
All the students start to get down off the ring and grab their waters and begin talking amongst themselves as they all leave for their breaks.
All of these students all have that burning desire. Its a shame that only a few of them may ever get to live their dream. Thats just the way this business works out, some guys can perform and some guys can't. This weekend at Guy's Night Out, the idiots that run SNW decided that it would be a good idea to let a rookie into the ring with me. Now, usually I'd be more than happy to teach the kid a few pointers, but this guy seems to have a chip on his shoulder for some reason. I mean, he's done nothing worth a damn in his life and then he came to SNW and beat up a punching bag more or less in the form of Greg Wilson. I mean, I've talked to Greg, he's a nice enough person, but when was the last time he was able to beat an opponent? Now, if Craig Mueller thought that beating Greg Wilson was impressive, than I think I can point him in the direction of some paint drying because thats just as impressive. The fact of the matter is that Cody Pugh was fed a nobody to get his foot in the door and while thats always fun, it proves nothing. And then you want to throw out such big massive words like "Fuck You," and thats supposed to intimidate me? Listen rookie, I've held more championships than you're ever going to see in your career so all of your garbage means nothing to me. And, hey, I'm no moron, I've gotten all the info on you. All the rumors that you've never lost a fight, but its one thing to beat up some drunken idiot in a bar, but its quite another to test your skills... which is a term I use lightly... against somebody who is a world-wide phenomenon.
The sad part is, word has it that I'm supposed to be thrown by the fact that Alex Daniels will be allowed to sit in as a guest commentator for my match. The thing is, Alex Daniels is such a non factor that even IF he decided to try and get involved with my match, I would put him out and then finish up with "The Bull," and then walk out and start my celebration. So, Cody, if you think that you're just going to walk in and get the best of me, then maybe you ought to do yourself a favor and look over my record and my credentials and then see if ANYTHING you've ever done in your life can come close to comparing. You see big man, I've seen guys like you over and over again and the schtick is always the same and guess what... theres always going to be that roadblock for you somewhere. Well, for you, that roadblock is me. You are going to try and blow past me because you think you're such a big tough guy, but when you slam into Soul Reaper, you wind up looking up and wondering why you can't remember the last few minutes that took place. You seem to think that just because you claim to be some bar fighting, undefeated, big shot that you deserve people to fear or respect you, but like I've said before, you just haven't proved that you require either of those.
Speaking of respect, I've been hearing Emo Kid all week. I've seen how he's been trying to more or less call me on what I said, but heres the deal. I stand by my comments and let me tell you why. Emo, when you came into this company, I saw potential. You were able to go out there week in and week out and do whatever it took to get a win. Even after a loss, you still didn't let that stop you from going out there and proving that you were a contender for something. But then, it seemed after you got your one shot at Hellspawn and his title back then that you lost some flare. He put you down and I think it shook you up a little bit and ever sense then, you've been missing something. Now I will admit that the last time you took on Azreal, you looked like you had more of that spark... but if it took a girl to do that then why are you in this business? It seems like you misplaced your reasons for being here. And then you question why I doubt you... because its like I said and you reiterated for me. Sometimes I think you don't care... about wrestling. This isn't just some job where you can nine to five and come in and do almost nothing and skirt by. You've got to want to be the best. You've got to put all that other stuff aside and go for gold. You've been here since day one and you've only had one title shot. Just one... and since then you've not even been a contender... because you were too busy with your personal affairs with that girl and whatever else. You say Hellspawn went soft when he went after Wench, but he still kicked your ass. You've gone soft and apparently you don't even realize it. Now I hope you win your match, Kid, I really do. It would show progress. If you want to earn my respect then might I suggest that you learn again why it is you wanted to be wrestler. This is my dojo... its always open to those who want help. You want to show me first hand why you deserve my respect, you could come here and show me.. or not. Either way, theres a reason why I elevated and theres a reason that some people don't.
You have to start somewhere... so that brings me back to you Cody. This is just your beginning here in SNW and I want you to learn from this. So remember all of what I said and once your ego will let you, never hesitate to ask for help. Because I assure you, this week, you are going to need it. You can bring your sledgehammer and you can bring your Boom... but after I lower your Boom down to a low whisper, remember that a simple "Fuck you" could just as easily been asking for help or a humble "Thanks for the opportunity." So, Cody, there it is. A simple lesson for you to learn from, as taught by a master of the game. Prepare as hard as you can, and when the time comes I'll see you in the ring. Until then, enjoy your time being undefeated.
Now if you'll excuse me, I almost missed break time.
Reaper takes a swig of water from his bottle and the throws it and makes his way out of the ring and out of the shot as we slowly fade to black.
