John Laurinaitis, WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, recently went to the creative team with a list of former WCW wrestlers to see if there was any possible interest, reports www.f4wonline.com. Laurinaitis is quite familiar with talent from the dying days of World Championship Wrestling as he joined the promotion in the summer of 2000 as a booker, carrying the role until the company was sold to the World Wrestling Federation in March 2001. Among those still actively wrestling (and not already under contract to WWE or under contract to TNA) from the 2001 roster include Buff Bagwell, Mark Jindrak, Shawn Stasiak, Chuck Palumbo, Shannon Moore, Kaz Hayashi and Sid Vicious.
Quite honestly, I would love to see Sid get another run with WWE. I've seen some video of his recent matches on Youtube and the guy can still go, the fans still cheer the hell out of him and he actually seems to move better than what he did before the leg injury if that's even possible. Speaking as someone who watched Sid from his NWA days as part of the Skyscrapers to his WCW World title run to WWF and then ECW before he went back to WCW again, I think Sid could potentially be an impact player with WWE. WWE has veterans like Triple H, Edge, Jericho and guys like that on it's roster, but it don't have "old school" kind of veterans like Sid. Also, with Batista supposedly feeling like he only has one good year left in him, maybe less because he keeps getting hurt, I could see WWE pulling the trigger on a Sid-Batista match or two.
I also would like to see Stasiak back in WWE. Mainly because his "Planet Stasiak" gimmick seemed to be getting over with the fans toward the end of his last run with WWE, it's just that they never pushed the guy off of Heat.
Another name not on here that I would love to see, especially with Misterio, Bourne and the smaller, faster guys that they have on the roster is Elix Skipper. Skipper has a natural charisma and athletic ability and would be a perfect heel opponent for maybe Evan Bourne or even R-Truth or John Morrison down the line.
