So apparently this is a big guessing game for the doctors right now. Last week they said that it appeared he had prostate cancer but it was treatable. Fast forward to this week, and now they think he may only have about two weeks left to live. I'll try to keep you all as up to date as I can. I'll try to do what I can for the fed, but if I have to let my staff run things and post a show or two, you'll understand why.

That's no good man, my heart goes out to you. If you ever need anything, you know how to get at me. I'm sure the staff can handle it should it come to that, that's not the thing to worry about.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll just play this all out by ear and take it one day at a time, and see what happens while hoping for the best.

Only thing you can do. I ran into a similar situation with my dad this year, and am currently in that situation with my own grandfather. Just gotta fight through it, and do the best you can do.

idiot fucking doctors. meteorologists & doctors are the two "professional" groups that can never give the same, consistant answer on anything & still manage to keep their jobs. wish i could give wishy-washy answers, back pedal a lot & generally screw up on stuff like doctors can get away with, without having to lose my job.
can you guys tell that i hate doctors? why are good doctors so hard to find? from what i've seen of this situation, i can't help but hate docs.

To answer Jugg's question, he's 84.
And another update. He was feeling better today after they gave him a shot, and they're going to go ahead and try to laser where the prostate cancer is. The two week thing seems like it was just a guess, but we'll find out soon enough.
If things go according to hoil, he could wind up making it through this, which is what I'm hoping for.

i hope they get the cancer, for his sake. if worse comes to worse, just remember that he did live a long & hopefully good life. it's not so easy getting to that age, anymore.
if he can make it, then enjoy the time you've got with him.

Believe me, I try to enjoy any time I get to have with him. In fact, I'm lucky that the owner of the restaurant I work at right now allows me to have weekends off so that I can spend them with my grandparents, as he understands the situation.
And he has led a great life. He served in WW II, played minor league ball in the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers organizations(never got the call up though). Also played minor league baseball for the old Fort Worth Cats back in the 40s or 50s(can't remember which decade).
Oddly enough, it was wrestling that brought my grandfather and I closer together as we went to the NWA Southwest indy shows here in Texas over 10 years ago. His favorites were Action Jackson, "Main Event" Mike Foxx, and Cedric Crain, back when he was known as Cedric of Hollywood(yes, JD, that's the X-Pac impostor from Texas indy PCW days!) Then when WWE premiered Smackdown, he was by the channel every week. The funniest was when they did the angle where Kurt Angle beat the crap out of Josh Matthews, and my grandmother, who'll tell you till she's blue in the face how wrestling's staged, actually bought into it and thought it was real! ;D She was going on about how Kurt should've been arrested and thrown in jail. lol

i had a neighbor (when i was a pre-teen) that was a former ballplayer, as well. he was an old-timer, as well. i think he mostly played minor league ball. i think there was a time when he had 1 or 2 seasons in the majors (i want to say Cleveland, but not entirely sure).
he was a cool old man, unlike the typical old-timer (the "get off my lawn" types). when my brother & i were still huge fans of baseball, he gave us a few big, old, wooden bats.....the kind you damn near had to drag on the ground (they were that freakin' heavy). i loved those damned bats, too. you could really nail a ball with those things.

Best wishes to your grandfather, Matt. I wasn't lucky enough to know either of my grandfathers but hopefully it something he can bounce back from and get better.
