they needed a study on this? for real? after all this time, the government had to finally waste money on this?
i'm seriously confused, right now. i'm confused on why the government needed a study on this issue. i'm also confused on why it took so long to do such a study. i honestly expected the government to do this a long time ago.
i'm also a bit confused on why the government (or anyone else) really cares about this.

Well, you'd think that with all this talk of "tightening the belt" and trying to be more fiscally responsible, is this really doing that?

honestly, this proves that the more things change, the more things stay the same. it also proves that no matter how much politicans claim that they'll change Washington, they don't. i've seen stunts like this too many times to believe anything i see or hear anymore.]
America is on the fast track to doom, with the way the government keeps spending money.

If you think this is stupid, then you should just do a little research on what the government spends on even the most simple of things. One example I know of is electronic relays, that were about 27 bucks, and the government shilled out somewhere in the range of 480 to 520 bucks for. Also looking at some other websites around, heres a list of 10 other things that the Libertarian party decided would be good to talk about.
1. "Giving $170 million to a pornographer who wants to hand out condoms around the world. The U.S. Agency for International Development awarded the grant to Population Services International, or PSI, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to curb sexually transmitted diseases. PSI was founded in 1971 by Philip Harvey, who runs a massive mail-order pornography firm called Adam and Eve.
2. "Funding a $1.8 million study of algae in hot water. The funding, contained in an omnibus appropriations bill, was given to the Bozeman, Mont., Center on Life in Extreme Thermal Environments, according to Citizens Against Government Waste.
3. "Authorizing a $1 million program at Auburn University to train dogs to spot terrorist activity. The money was earmarked by Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., in a bill funding the Veterans Administration and Housing Department.
4. "Spending $3.6 million for 'team-building' exercises for the Postal Service. At a series of employee retreats, hundreds of Postal workers played children's games, sang 'We Are Family,' wrote Christmas carols, went on treasure hunts, dressed in cat costumes, took scat singing lessons, and talked to imaginary wizards, magicians and mad scientists at staff meetings.
5. "Mailing Social Security checks to fugitives. Though a 1996 law prohibits the payments, 36,752 fugitives have been collecting benefits anyway, costing taxpayers $223.7 million, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
6. "Paying $560,000 to trim weeds at the Montana Sheep Institute – money contained in a $397.4 billion appropriations bill passed by Congress earlier this year.
7. "Authorizing pay raises for Congress and other federal workers. Senators and representatives raised their salaries by $5,000 this year, to $154,700. President Bush also handed a 4.1 percent pay increase in February to federal workers, even though many of the private-sector employees footing the bill are taking pay cuts and even losing their jobs in a difficult economy.
8. "Hiring 2 million government workers – in Iraq. As part of the postwar plan to 'promote stability,' the Pentagon wants to pay the salaries of 2 million soldiers, teachers, police officers and other government workers in Iraq – in effect putting one out of every 10 Iraqis on the U.S. government payroll.
9. "Selling expensive government property for pennies. According to government auditors, the Energy Department sold a $9,000 copier to NTS Development Corp. for 5 cents, and sold the firm 23 trucks worth $448,000 for 17 cents each.
10. "Guaranteeing even more waste, fraud and abuse next year by increasing the federal budget to a record $2.3 trillion."
I mean, not to say it could be party propaganda like the Democrats or Republicans use, but seriously, in all the bills that get published and voted on, theres a load of crap that we never hear about. Stuff just finds it way into the bills that are written and since the government takes an all or nothing approach to its bills, so if the bulk of it sounds reasonable TO THEM, then they'll approve it and if it survives the whole process then its all good. So say theres a bill that deals with giving a little extra money to poor regions to help build their economy and put more jobs out there for people, you may also find somewhere in there on one of the pages an additive that gives part of that money to some group or scientific mind to research the days in the life of a homeless man. And it wouldn't be the cost of a notepad and paper or even a little gas money for the person researching. The amount is going to wind up being at the lowest, the average persons yearly salary or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

my head hurts, after seeing this. i knew the government was fucked up, but this is just pathetic. i've mentioned this to people in real life & it's worth mentioning here. Americans need to boot every one of these pieces of shit out of office. we need a restart with our government. kick out everyone that's in office, scrap all but the most basic of laws & rights, then start all over again.
time to keep it simple.

It really took $423,500 to find out why men don't like to wear condoms? The same reasons i give when asked why i wear a kilt come immediately to mind: comfort and freedom. Now where is my $423,500?

you don't get it. the only skirts the government cares about is the ones that most of them plan on removing (or the ones they pay hush money to). and yes, i called it a skirt.
