All indications are that Jeff Hardy still remains contractually uncommitted to a future in WWE.
While no one anticipates Hardy leaving for a rival group, it remains interesting that the wrestler WWE officials reportedly view, according to the Wrestling Observer, as the "most popular" babyface in the company is main-eventing WWE pay-per-views without a long-term commitment to the company.
According to wrestling gossip website The Sun, Hardy told Spain's Cuatro Network that he is hesitant to seal his long-term fate even while knowing he has as much as a decade left in the ring.
"I don't know - I am 31 years old now and I don't like making plans for the future. I can wrestle until I am 40 but I don't want to make plans, I don't like thinking about what could happen between now and the next five years," said Hardy.
The expectation from most industry sources is that Hardy will ultimately sign, presumably contingent on some sort of hiatus at the end of the summer.

Considering recent circumstances I don't know if that's such a good idea...

Jeff will never mature. many people hate "planning for the future". yet, most of us still do it. why? it's part of being a fucking adult. Jeff Hardy seriously needs to grow up & start dealing with things.
most people refer to this as "shit or get off the pot".

JD, as much of a Jeff Hardy mark as I am I agree with your point. At this level, this apex of height in the company this really isn't an option. This is right now the best time for him to commit and show Vince he can handle being a top dog.

that's exactly what Jeff needs to remember. it's not like when he left for TNA, the last time around. back then, Jeff could take time to consider different options. things are different, this time around. while the work schedule is harder, he's also at the point where he can't get much higher.
Jeff needs to realize that, at this point, the money won't get a whole lot better elsewhere. if he wants prestige, this is where he has to get it from. committing to a new contract might actually mean a decent WWE Title run. no guaratees on it, but it's still worth a try. not like going to TNA will be worthwhile (trust me, it wasn't all that great for him, last time).
as much as i love dumping on Jeff & WWE, signing a new contract is the best option for Jeff, as far as i can tell. go for it now, while he can. if he waits too long, the opportunity will slip through his fingers.
