The big push of Drew McIntyre on WWE's Smackdown brand was largely inspired by Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Both are said to be huge backers of McIntyre and feel he has the potential to be a wrestler the company can build around in the future. McIntyre has already been compared as an Irish version of Triple H back in 1995 in that they have similar height, physique, hair and around the same ability at this stage in his career.
There is also reportedly said to be some resentment towards McIntyre's push on TV among some talent that have been there for around five years who have been told they will be elevated if they bring up their work level.
While this could easily be hearsay, one WWE source indicated that as far as things go on the RAW brand that unless you get the personal stamp of approval from Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena or Randy Orton, the feeling is you won't get past a certain level.

No offense, but if Randy Fucking Orton was going to be a determining factor as to whether or not I succeeded or failed in this company, I wouldn't consider the company.

Ah, no wonder I refuse to follow pro wrestling anymore... Granted there are several others, but reasons like this definitely help my cause.

For once I can tell you two to straighten your skirts and stop fighting, and one of you will actually do it.

after watching this thread and all the blatant anti wrestling or anti HHH/Cena/Orton whoever hate all I have to say is....
Wrestling has been doing this for years, I'm not shocked to hear that the TOP (whether you like it or not) guys in the company are the ones picking up on the next (maybe, its never guaranteed) top stars. Andre, Hogan, Flair, Rhodes, I'm sure Sting, Nash, even Angle... all of these people who were loved by either the general wrestling public or the hardcore fans...or both dip their grubby hands into the talent pool and pick out who they think should "take their place" one day.
The "Talent" isn't whats wrong with wrestling today, whats wrong with wrestling is a creative way to connect with its fans who've backed it up for years while also trying to gain new fans. Wrestling these days is stuck on getting new fans.... and then disregarding those fans in a few years and gaining newer fans with a different approach.

what? no retort about me being a drunken wookie? no comments about giving my mom rugburn, when i was born? i'm disappointed in your lack of effort. you really should try doing it, sometime. the fun part will be finding a new insult for me, man.
