~"Everyone's Favourite Canadian Lady" Adriana Samu is lending her personality to help the Alberta Government in their H1N1 Immunization Campaign. The Canadian province has launched an advertising campaign encouraging people to get vaccinated against the H1N1 Flu in advance of the start of the flu season. Samu will be appearing on television and radio commercials urging Albertans to get the shot, not only to protect themselves and those around them, but also to help stop the pandemic. Samu posted this on her blog earlier: "Most people don't realize the communal benefits of getting vaccinated. Yeah, it protects yourself and those you live and work with, but, according to the Alberta Health website, if 70% of the population were immunized H1N1 would have no where to spread and would die out. Getting immunized is for the good of the whole population, and that's why I agreed to lend my voice to help this out." This is the third Government of Alberta initiative she has helped out with; last year she appeared in ads encouraging Albertans to use Emergency Services responsibly and she is frequently seen in ads encouraging Albertans and Canadians to vote.
~Speaking of immunizations, all three Y Kores returned to their respective Canadian home-bases to receive the vaccination early this week. Kotch, who has suffered from respiratory problems in the past, was a high-priority patient who got immunized before the general public in Vancouver. Samu is the only one who hasn't been vaccinated yet after the clinic in her current city of residence ran out of the vaccine. She plans to be immunized before returning to Texas later this week for Guys Night Out.
~There was word going around that Samu was trying to rally up support for a fund-raising event before the new year. Plans for this fundraiser, which is rumoured to support Canadian and American Cancer Societies, will likely be held off until the New Year now, thanks to Y Kores' busy schedule.
