Fort Worth, Texas- A press conference was held today by SNW Texas Champion Vincent Matthews to announce the opening of his new training center and workout facility. In front of about thirty media members, Matthews announced that the new place would be named the Albano-Williams Wrestling Complex after two legends that passed away in 2009, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and "Captain" Lou Albano.
"Ever since I started training to become a wrestler, I knew someday I would want to pass on my own unique mentality and training methods to others because I knew someday I would be successful," Matthews said. "This is not your average wrestling academy, this is going to be for those who really want to succeed."
When asked about what students will need to have, and what they can expect from the center, Matthews was very eager to extrapolate.
"If you don't have a killer instinct and hardcore work ethic, then just steer clear because we do not want you," Matthews said. "We only want those who have a desire to be the best, to someday wear belts like the one I am currently in possession of. You will learn as much as your brain can handle, but unless you are willing to work for it you will not benefit at all."
The A-WWC is located in rural Fort Worth, which is the exact place its owner wanted it to be.
"Fort Worth is a great town, and I love it. However, there are too many distractions in Fort Worth proper. In it's current location, we have room," Matthews said. "We can expand if we need to, we can do whatever we want and not have to worry about things that would draw training offsides."
Matthews plans on being the head trainer, however he has hinted that he will bringing in others to assist him in breeding the new generation of grapplers.
"Marcus [Ryan] and Samuel [Hale] will also aide me, and should we have any females then I'm sure my wife Jade will also be interested. I also hope to bring in some guests, fellow competitors that can offer an interesting perspective and might be proficient in a way I do not have experience in," Matthews said.
