The NXT "Invasion"

I have to say, this is what wrestling is about, people. Drawing the fans in and make them actually wonder what's going on and get them involved in what you're doing in that moment. The arena was quiet for this, nobody expected it, but it came off brilliant. The NXT guys didn't go heel or face, attacking Cena and Punk as well as Gallows and Serena at ringside and the crew at ringside as well. This has caused a buzz unlike anything WWE has done the last few years and I think this is a HUGE step in the right direction for them. Hell, I'm hearing people say it was the best RAW ending since 2001-2002. I'd probably have to agree on that.

The only thing I'm afraid of is the follow up to this. Following up a great segment or start to something is WWE's weak point right now. From here, it'd be great to know why the rookies did it without having some bullshit reason like WWE usually gives. I'm also hoping that they maybe say the rookies attacked Undertaker instead of turning into Kane doing it and swerving everyone later on like I'm getting the vibe may happen now.

I'm also hoping they follow this up tonight with the NXT guys invading the new season and maybe trying to recruit some of the newbies on it. I know it's a lot shot that WWE will get this right, but one can hope!

what? Superman didn't survive this attack? i would've expected him to not only get up, but FU every member of the NXT group.

this is somewhat intriguing. for once, something's going on that i wasn't expecting. i expected Daniel Bryon & a couple others from NXT to be used, but not the whole group.

honestly, i think it's about time WWE is trying something like this. we don't need something big to catch everyone's attention. this is a simple concept that's managing to catch a lot of attention. it's giving a bunch of younger, fresher wrestlers a chance to shine.

i'm not a fan of Otunga, but i think most of the group could benefit from this. if this continues, this will set up several interesting angles.

Judging from what happened tonight on NXT with the Season 2 rookies being attacked by the pros and Striker, I think it's safe to say we may see a mutiny from them soon too.

i just hope they dont let it die becuase lets face it wwe writers arnt known for there abilty to see a bloody good storyline

Does anyone also see the possibility of Michael Cole leading the rookies? I mean, him being the ONLY one RAW to get away was fishy. Especially since him and Danielson have had that bad blood recently and Danielson was RIGHT on his side of the ring, in front of Cole before they attacked Cena. It seems mind boggling that he didn't make a beeline toward him. PLUS, some hints were dropped last night on NXT. Like Cole bring up the mood as being"insecure" in the arena and him putting over how he got away and he was the only one. Plus when talking about The Miz, Cole said something and then Mathews said "You got anything else to say?" and Cole was like "Not yet" and smirked. I have a feeling that he has something to do with it. he may not be leading it, but he's involved.
