The scene opens with Chris Angel on his couch, reading a book. Aware that he was no longer alone, the Texas Champion sets the book on the table and looks up.
"When I'm not wrestling or hitting the gym, I love me a good book. There's nothing quite like taking your mind away from what's real and letting it go, creatively speaking, into another place. But with that being said, my mind is totally fixated on my next match.
The powers that be has seen fit to team me up once again with Clinton and Chris P. against a bunch of rats and one of the few newcomers I've had my eye on, Tyler Straven. Incidentally, Straven will also be one of the three who'll have the honor of fighting for the Texas Championship come Summer Bash. Now, I'll have to give credit where credit is due and Tyler, both you and Versus Vince have shown incredible prowess in the ring and the momentum you had has kept on swinging since the day you walked through the doors of the SNW. It was that momentum that's carried you this far and make no mistake come Summer Bash, one way or another, your lives will change.
But putting that aside, I have to look to our match this week.
While management thinks you worthy and even though I've applauded your ability in getting to where you are now, it's going to take me a while to believe that you've earned your spot. Now, before you blow a gasket, let me specify. A lot of people come into this business, cut a few eloquent promos and expect their work to be cut out for them. A lot of these people then expect to win their matches. Sure, they may be good at talking, but can they walk the walk? Most can't, and sooner rather than later, their lack of physical prowess marks the end of a potential career. Now, while you have, I must admit an impressive debut, I feel that it is my responsibility to point out to you that when you're in the ring with me, it's a whole new ballgame. I've done everything a person can do in this business and time to time, I still do something revolutionary.
Don't believe me? Just ask Vincent Matthews. Last time I was in something revolutionary, he lost something around his waist.
But I'm not here to brag. my point is this Tyler, when you step into that ring with me, forget everything you've learnt and everything you've seen others do. Come in with a clear mind and face me and I'll show you just why you need to be one hundred percent sure of yourself when you're in the ring with me. Earn your spot through blood and honor.
But despite your ego, I like you kid. You and me, we've got something in common. One year ago, I was in 4UP, in that exact same match. I went to the finals and faced down James Jackson. And just like you, I gave my all, but I didn't make it out Bad Blood Champion. Granted Jackson didn't pin me like he pinned you, but we both at one time, walked out empty handed.
But I never allowed that to discourage me as sooner rather than later, I won the Bad Blood title and I defended it all the way till I gave it up to, once again, the prick that disrespected it.
But at the end of it all, the lesson here is this, despite the odds, despite the overwhelming deluge of problems and obstacles I faced, I had forced my way through them all and took what I wanted. I was Bad Blood Champion for close to a year and I am the Texas Champion now. I have defended both belts with honor and respect and through it all, I know only one thing to be true.
For a year now, I have been undefeated. Unpinned. And while I don't really let that get to my head, you have to think, just what kind of guy would I be that I could go so long without a personal loss. Just imagine what I would do to win, to keep that streak and most importantly to keep my title around my waist. To me, it doesn't matter if the belt is on the line or not.
Every match is the same. Every match is a fight for my life and I intend to keep fighting for as long as I can. And since it looks like I'm not tiring at anytime soon, Straven, you and your pals better bring you’re A game and be prepared for a painful ride because my boys, Clinton and Chris are just as hungry and violent as me and we will do everything and anything in our power to walk out victorious.
I suggest you take the time and read a good book Straven because when we're done with you, you'll want to escape to a better place."
