Chris Angel was busy with bicep curls. His face was a mirror of focus and determination and every rep he squeezed out of the 40 pound dumbbell was another obstacle crossed, another naysayer broken. He kept at it for a few more seconds, his biceps bunched up and sleek with sweat.
Finally, he drops the weights to a loud bang onto the floor and looks up at the camera. Grabbing the towel draped on a nearby chair, he wipes his face and nods.
"So it seems my words riled up a few more feathers than I expected. And even more so from a certain someone I wasn't expecting either.
Back when I first came onto the scene, Tyler, you were someone that lived by a code. Honor, respect, integrity. You lost and won by that code and even when the world would look down on you, you kept on fighting because it was the right thing to do.
You had people's respect and even though most never cared to tell you, they harbored it nonetheless. But something changed mate, somewhere along the lines, you became a very different person. I mean, look at you. You're all angry and miserable and calling people racist. Say you hate America, yet here you are, living off American money. I mean, isn't there a KKK you can join somewhere?
Point is, you're living, breathing and working in a country that owes you nothing and yet you act and talk like you deserve the world. What have you done, besides whine like a little girl when things didn't go your way? You tell me that I don't act like a Champion? Yet what have you done?
Was I handed the Bad Blood title when I stepped in? Did they offer it to me on a silver platter? No, I had to fight for it, against other people in a grueling match, or matches you might say. And even though I busted my ass, I didn't win that match. But did I whine? Did I change my name, my attitude and become a dick?
No. I worked my ass off and I was given the opportunity to earn that belt a second time and I did everything I could to win it.
And I did.
Was I given the Texas Championship after that? No, but you know that story mate. They're still playing it on the news.
And I have never ever treated those belts with disrespect. I have carried them with pride and honor. They are the apex of success in this federation and it doesn't matter how long I am Champion, all that matters is that for a time, I was. And right now, even Vincent Matthews is more champion material than you will ever be. Granted that punk changed his name and attitude too but he went at it the right way. Sure he said a few annoying things and acted like a princess but he put his money where his mouth was when the time was right and that is something I haven't seen from you.
I mean seriously, the best justification you can come up with after saying I don't act like a champion is that my belts are my golden get laid card?
Unlike you, I don't need $10 women to satisfy me nightly. Maybe if you stayed off the cheap stuff you might bring a little something to the ring. God, I hope you didn't catch something though. Would seem like a cruel joke for management to have me wrestle a guy who's privates could fall off anytime due to extreme usage.
But jokes aside, Tyler, you want respect, you got to earn it. You fight for it and if you don't like this country, this state, then get the hell out.
We don't care about you Tyler, we don't care about James. And unfortunately, for Andy, who I have no real problem with, being in that team, kinda puts you in the same position. Thankfully it's only for one night eh?
But remember this. At the end of the day, we don't care for losers and whiners. We don't care for people who are so full of themselves that they just can't see the shit that's in front of them. You tell me that I brag? I don't brag, I talk about what's real.
And right now, what's real is that I am the Bad Blood and Texas Champion and you, my friend are about to get your ass kicked."
