The scene opens up to the image of a suit clad Simon Sensation leaning up against a slot machine as people come and go, walking around him and clamoring amongst themselves as the bright lights and sounds of a casino hit us.
Simon: You know, I’m just twenty five. But when you’re in this business as long as I’ve been, when you’ve been as many places as I have and wrestles all of the people that I’ve taken on over the years, you see things. You experience things that you’ve never even thought about before, but there ultimately comes a time when it’s like you’ve done it all. When there’s really little to no new frontiers for you to go to and experience.
He shakes his head and folds his arms over his chest.
Simon: You know, coming to SNW even, that’s kind of how I felt. Like I’d seen it all. Like I’d been through all there was to be through and there was nothing new for me to do. Then I found out that I was in this 4 Up thing and needless to say, it’s something unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of before. The very concept of it is something that draws me in, that lures me into things and fascinates me to an endless degree.
He holds up a hand now and shakes his head once more, this time with a rather amused smirk on his face.
Simon: Now, I’ve held titles elsewhere that maybe beg to differ, but I’m not a hardcore wrestler by any stretch of the imagine. I don’t reach for a weapon every match I have, I don’t particularly like the idea of having blood soaked battles. The idea just never appealed to me. But this tournament, 4 Up, it’s a hardcore thing, sure, but it goes beyond that much for me. You see, most people entered into this thing likely look at it as a hardcore war, like it’s going to be one giant clusterfuck with barbed wire, tacks and a plethora of other weapons. But me?
He pauses for a second and nods his head as he raises his right hand to his chin for the moment.
Simon: I look at this as my chance to establish myself. In Sports Nutz Wrestling. I look at this as a chance for me to reach out and make my first mark upon this company by making it through all three stages of the tournament and getting my hand raised at the end to win that Bad Blood Championship. And it’s nothing personal to any of the other people in this match. Hell, when you look at this match it’s like a who’s who, a Cliff’s Notes to the elite in SNW. You’ve got people like Adriana Samu that have been around seemingly forever but never really broken away from the pack to hold some gold of her own. You’ve got Tyler Straven, Chase Daniels who are new faces to this company and looking to make a huge statement here in their first big, pay per view appearance.
He snickers and shakes his head once.
Simon: I hope you two are better than what Jakob Cross was. For all of the talent he supposedly possessed, I mowed through him with ease. Hell, you’ve got Syco Boy, a tag team legend here in SNW taking part in this. You have Tyler Guevara, a man that’s really starting to break away from the pack and make a name for himself as a solid wrestler. You have Wench, the Von Erich Memorial Champion. Of course, you have James Jackson, the man who won the whole thing last year. You even have Vincent Matthews, the former Texas Heavyweight Champion and a man that many likely look upon as one of the key, franchise players in this company.
He raises the corner of his mouth up into a sneer and looks at the slot machine.
Simon: Well, just like this slot machine here, this tournament is one hell of a game of chance. A game of luck. You don’t know what the reels will land on, you can only hope that it’s a good combination of match type, something that you can do well in and some good opponents as well. I know how this thing works. All sixteen of us start in a battle royal with our eliminations determining which match we end up in. I mean, I pride myself on technical ability, my pure wrestling talent and think about it.
He seems to be a little less than thrilled at what he says next.
Simon: I could be in a light tube deathmatch if I’m one of the first four eliminated from the battle royal. I could be in a thumbtacks, ladders and chairs match if I’m in the second group of four eliminated, or a barbed wire match. Brutality don’t even begin to describe what these matches represent after we have to go through a battle royal, especially if we’re one of the last four left in the ring, which would put us in a chain match.
He shakes his head and snickers as he eyes the slot machine.
Simon: Just my luck, huh? The match that I’d want to be in during the second stage of things, the chain match is also probably going to be one of the hardest ones to get in thanks to the fact that it’s for the last four left in the match. But in all honesty, it don’t matter what second round match I’m in. It don’t matter what weapon I get to take into the Cage of Death. When the last bell rings at 4 Up, when all of the dust has settled and all of the blood has been bled…..
He snickers again and smirks at the camera.
Simon: The one that you’ll be handing that Bad Blood Championship title too won’t be Vincent Matthews like I’m sure some people want to see. It’s going to be me, Angel. You’ve had a good run, Chris, you held that title for a while now and had a good, respectable run with it. But when you step aside, I’ll happily take your place as champion and hey, this isn’t just me talking out of my ass. I’ve been on a roll since coming back here, I’ve been taking names and kicking ass non stop and that’s not going to stop with this tournament. Because this is my shot, this is my chance to show the world that I’m undoubtedly better than fifteen of SNW’s other top names. This is the opportunity, some would say, of a life time and I intend on making the most of it.
He shakes his head.
Simon: I don’t know what craziness will ensue. I don’t know what the cards hold for this 4 Up tournament. But at the end of the day, when everything is said and done, I guarantee you that everyone in this company and everyone watching at home is going to find out why I’m the ONLY king in this entire deck of jokers!
With this, he produces a playing card from the sleeves of his suit and flicks it at the camera with a click as it makes the contact with the lens and then the scene fades to black.
Simon: You know, I’m just twenty five.
