Scene opens up with Levetation wandering around the dimly lit backstage area aimlessly, with crew members scattered all over getting things prepared for Saturday night. Levetation looks at some of them and just laughs and shakes his head.
Levetation-"In The Metamorphoses the Roman poet Ovid tells the story of a handsome youth named Narcissus, a tale he learned from Greek mythology. Narcissus is so intent on his own desires that he is unable to fall in love, rejecting the advances of all who are attracted to him. Never having seen his own image, he understands the power of his beauty only through the reactions others have to him. When he rebuffs the love of Echo, a nymph, her unrequited passion causes her to waste away and die. When one of Echo's handmaidens prays to Nemesis, the goddess or revenge, Nemesis responds by declaring that Narcissus shall get a taste of his own medicine: If he should ever fall in love, he will be denied the very thing he so desires.
One day, while stopping to drink from a forest pool, Narcissus catches a glimpse of his reflection in the smooth water. Smitten by the sight, he halls madly in love with his own beautiful image. He lies next to the pond, staring at his own reflection in the water. But whenever he reaches into the water and tries to embrace the image, it dissolves. Unable to kiss, or hold in anyway capture his true heart's desire, he too dies of unrequited love."
What's the moral of the story here, Mr. Matthews? Well, let me break it down for you real simple like so even you can understand... Ever since I arrived in SNW, you have been nothing but a self loving, self involved piece of shit. Your actions last week only reaffirmed those pre-conceived notions I had about you, too. Feeling threatened that you might lose to me in a non-title match, so you get yourself disqualified. So while, you lost, you are able to walk way standing tall and proud as if though you did secure yourself the win. Resulting from this, your ever growing ego has been fed much more than it should ever be. Now let's look where that got you, in the exact same place as last week, facing me. Except this time around Matthews, you’re livelihood… That championship of yours IS on the line! Do you realize champ that if you wouldn’t have taken me lightly, and beaten me cleanly one on one like a real man, you wouldn’t have to face me again and most definitely wouldn’t be defending your precious championship against me.
However, since you clearly aren’t much of man, maybe one that’s way too into himself, but not much of one nonetheless… Once more you will have to square off against me, and let me tell you, after last week’s fiasco, I’m pissed. The fact you couldn’t beat me cleanly, the fact you had that decrepit, old, [censored] you call a manager in Mike Rhines. Last week, I told you woke a sleeping giant. When you more or less phoned it in and took the easy way out in our first meeting, it was like you try to pull one over on this giant… And I don’t like it when people play games with me, I am the one who does plays the games. Cheat me out of another match Matthews, and it will be the last mistake you’ve ever made in your 23 year existence. And nothing would bring a bigger smile to my face than to bring yours to an end… Except maybe that AND taking your championship. Maybe I’ll just go that route when we face off, sounds like a hell of a lot more fun. What ya got?"
