Scene opens on a street in Dallas, Texas. “Everyone’s Favourite Canadian Lady” Adriana Samu and her camerawoman are walking down the street. Kaos is walking, on a leash, beside Adriana obediently. Adriana is on the phone.
Yeah well it’ll be good to catch up on old times, my friend. It’s been a long time…How does 11 sound? … You’ll have to send me directions. I can’t find my way around this town….Alright. See you there, Stank!...What’s that? … Ok….Talk to you later!
Adriana hangs up but doesn’t put her phone away. Apparently she receives a text with a video attached. As she watches it, she stops walking and gets a strange look on her face. The video finally ends and she puts the phone away. She shakes her head as if to clear the cobwebs.
George Fatpork…!? I think my IQ just dropped 10 points…
Adriana seems to remember that there is a camera in front of her suddenly and she snaps to attention, continuing her walk with Kaos.
Well, well, EnigmaH. The Diva Killer. You and I are not so different. While neither of us have had particularly hard lives, we have had challenging ones. You have come back from illness to thrive again in the ring. I lost my parents and have overcome addiction to prove myself among the best in the business. We have both had to work extra hard to surpass the expectations of the men that run this business. We have both had to convince them to let us play, fully clothed, and without pillows, in the ring. Both of us know our own strengths and neither of us thinks our weaknesses, your lack of mat wrestling experience and my lack of humility, matter in the end.
You think I have not sat down and watched some of your stuff? You are delusional. Do you KNOW who I am? I am Adriana Samu. I have held more than one title in every promotion I have set foot in. I have been voted the fan favourite in one capacity or another for two years in a row. I have gone from inexperienced, untrained and undisciplined wrestling whelp to world-class, multi-champion, much accomplished Canadian female superstar in under 10 years. I have accomplished more in my life so far that you might hope to in your entire career. You don’t get to be as accomplished as I am by sitting around eating ding-dongs all day. Well, unless you’re Brother Ray, anyway.
I have never been handed a damn thing I’ve received. I have worked hard every minute of my life since I was 16 years old, since the day Stu Hart brought me down to the dungeon and introduced me to the boys that would be in my graduating class – Teddy, Harry, Evans, Devine…Any thought I had of coasting through wrestling school were crushed that day. Those boys are talented. But where are they now? Teddy is struggling to stay afloat in obscurity. Harry is sadly going down the path his father took. Evans...well I don’t really need to say more. Devine is nothing but a mid-card whipping boy for Team 3D. I am the only one of the class that has actually ACCOMPLISHED something. Decorated Champion, Fan Favourite, Manager, Booker, Promoter, Owner…
EnigmaH, you are in serious danger of going down a path many a good man and woman have gone down before. You think you know girls like me. You think you can predict me. You have seen this attitude before and you think you’re all high and mighty for being just a tad more humble than I. Some people, surely even some disgruntled people on this roster, say I have an attitude problem. Let me tell you folks, it’s no problem at all to me. My attitude is the only reason I am where I am. Many other girls would have succumbed to the pressure, to the negativity, to the ridicule. Not attitudinous Adriana. I stuck it out. I turned their negativity into fuel for my fire. I proved their ridicule wrong.
EnigmaH, I KNOW I have this match in the bag, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s going to be easy and it doesn’t mean I will be letting my guard down. I will be sorely disappointed if I don’t feel this fight in my bones the morning after. And while you’re giggling over hot boys on a plane, I am preparing; mentally with a nice, quite walk with my puppy; physically with a good warm-up match against an old friend of mine tomorrow; emotionally by getting out and seeing the fans for which I do this.
But at the end of the day, nothing I say will matter to you. You believe you have the answer to this challenge. You believe you know me and the mistakes I’ll make. Go on and live in your dream world, EnigmaH. I will see you at Onslaught. Only then will we see which one of us chicks is right, and which one of us is on their back, starring at the lights.
Adriana scoffs and smirks before picking up the pace and walking off into the distance to end the scene.
