The scene faded into the home of Matt and Wench. Wench seems to be upset and is upstairs in their room packing. She's crying as she looks around the room. She looked over at Damien who was sitting in the doorway clutching a toy hummer. She sighs a bit. She closes the suitcase and rolls it to the door where she picks up Damien.
She walks downstairs to the living room and sits a tape along with a note on top of the coffee table. She looked around the room before leaving. She walked to her truck and tossed the suitcase in the back before putting Damien in his car seat.
See Matt Matt?
Wench shook her head.
No, baby.
See Daddy?
Wench sighed.
Perhaps soon.
Wench finished buckling him in and closed the door. She moved to the front and slid behind the wheel. She started the truck and pulled out of the driveway.
She drove for several hours. She occasionally checked the mirror to check on Damien, who had fallen asleep. She went through a drive thru and got them some dinner. She continued to drive until she pulled up in front of a remote cabin.
She shut off the truck and leaned her forehead on the steering wheel.
DADDY.
Wench raised up and looked back at Damien who was climbing out of his car seat. He poked his head between the two seats smiling at her. She looked to him.
Daddy isn't here, sweetie. Let's go get some power going and we can go in and eat, okay?
Damien nodded and Wench opened the glove compartment and took out a set of keys. She looked at them a moment before getting out. She got Damien out who had grabbed his toy hummer and walked to the back and started the generator. They walked back around to the front of the cabin and she tried the key. She smiled faintly that it still worked.
Wench walked back to the truck and got her suitcase and the food and carried it inside. She gave Damien his food and tried to eat herself but couldn't. She kept replaying the tape over and over in her mind.
How could he betray me like that. I thought he loved me.
Wench had all kinds of thoughts running through her head as the scene faded out.
