Chris P. was scheduled to give a press conference to explain his actions last week but has cancelled it. A representative of his has come out to his house to address the press corps that has gathered in front of his New Jersey home.
Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you and apologize for Chris P.'s absence today. He felt that it would be best to go to the fans and tell them why he did what he did. After he was advised that this was a bad idea, Chris then decided that he wasn't going to speak at all regarding the tag team match or his partners or his opponents until he was given the right to speak. He says he will be at Guys Night Out this week and that he will wrestle, but has given no promises that he'll stay quiet.
A reporter asks if Chris was sorry for what he did.
He makes no comment.
Another reporter asks why Chris felt the need to betray his fans.
Again, I have no comment from Chris or anyone connected with him.
Another reporter asks if Chris is aware that he's become one of the more hated men in the industry.
I'm sure he is and that's why he did what he did, but I will not comment any further on that because Chris will speak on it himself at another time. He doesn't feel that any other forum except in the middle of the ring in front of the fans who now despise him is worth it.
One decides to ask about a potential name change, as word has spread on the internet that Chris has decided to overhaul his character entirely.
I can say that he has looked into it and that potentially he could make an announcement on that either at Guys Night Out or immediately following. He's grown tired of the name after nearly ten years and is going to look into it as part of the relaunch. Now, I must be leaving, so if you'll excuse me I need to be on a plane.
Various questions come afterward but the rep is heading to a car waiting to take him away.
