We come across Chris P. in a gym. He's doing some work on a heavy bag. As before, any time he speaks the camera cuts to a still of him speaking.
Revenge. Seven letters. What do they mean when put together?
Chris does some punching and kicking.
We all know what they mean. Wanting to get payback on someone for something they did.
More punching.
The time for that has passed.
More kicking.
It's no longer about revenge.
A few more punches, then Chris walks away from the bag.
It's about redemption.
The bag swings.
It's about justifying your position.
We come to Chris P. doing a little jumping rope.
Believing your own hype.
From another angle.
And rectifying the decisions you make as the right ones.
And yet another.
It's something Alex Daniels just doesn't understand.
Cut to Chris out running, throwing punches.
Sacrificing things.
From another angle.
Making changes.
And a third.
Maybe he understands about being all about himself. That's the only similarity we have.
Cut to Chris stretching on the side of the road.
Maybe he'll be lucky and the fans will actually want to see him beat me. I mean, he's not the one who turned his back on them because he got tired of the way things were going.
Cut to Chris doing push-ups.
There are a few other things that this match is about.
Cut to Chris doing sit-ups.
And Alex raises a very valid point about being a real champion.
Back to the gym where Chris is lifting weights.
But the facts are that he's never been in the ring with anybody who can claim to be a real champion. Forget Super Vader. When there's a man who is better than him, he can't win a match without resorting to desperate tactics to defeat you.
From another angle.
Anyone and their mother can see that I'm a better wrestler than he is.
And another.
If anything, I would be thanking him for the defeat...because it proved to be an eye opener.
And still, another.
To show just how complacent I've really gotten.
And yet again, another.
Because now, the focus is back.
One more shot of Chris running.
The dedication to the craft.
One more of Chris doing push ups.
The security in the knowledge that I'm just that much better than Alex Daniels.
One more of Chris doing sit-ups.
And the overall ability to prevent what happened last time from ever happening again.
Cut to Chris sitting in his dressing room.
I don't know what else there is to say. I'm just that much better than Alex Daniels. I always have been and I always will be. I've wrestled people who are a lot better than you around the world, I've wrestled people who are a lot better than you around the United States, I've wrestled people who are a lot better than you in this company. You aren't anything special and you never will be. A belt doesn't make the man.
And while I thank you for making me see the light about my own career do not think that it's a case of me going soft. I still haven't forgotten what you did. I'm not revenge driven, though, as I said. It's all about redeeming myself. And when a man at the top of his prime, the highest point in his career, can't beat someone who's much lower on the totem pole than him, then perhaps he should just hang it up. If I can't beat you this time maybe I should hang it up. It'll prove every change I've made is for naught.
Rest assured, Alex, I can tell you that isn't going to happen. You are going to lose this match. You're going to lose it bad. There is nothing that is going to prevent me from a complete and utter domination of you except my own conscience...and as you've seen, I've pretty much just thrown that out the window.
And when you take all of that into account...the talent, the focus, the drive for redemption...and add it all up, the one question you should be asking yourself, instead of "who's next?" is this..."where will I go from here?"
And if there is justice in the world, the answer will be "far, far away."
