Once again, we return to Jack Clinton.
I'd like to take a moment to address another point that people have been making about me over the years. Now, keep in mind that I'm one of the biggest physical specimens in this company. 7 foot. 355. You can't deny that. But with the size, the definition, the strength, comes gawking and comes doubt. I know there's a lot of people who come to see SNW shows and who have followed my career since I started wrestling way back in 2004 and haven't been impressed. Oh, he's just getting where he is because of his size, some people say. Well, in certain cases that's the truth. But in this case? Well...
Let me put it to you like this. On this roster we've got quite a few guys at or around my height. Hellspawn, for instance. Tyler Guevara. Alex Draven. And to varying degrees they've had success wherever they've been. The only problem is that they aren't anywhere near where I am and never have been. Hellspawn's been up and down and in and out so many times I lost count around twenty. Tyler Guevara is a waste of space that nobody cares about because we all got tired of his anti-American shtick that got him nowhere. Alex Draven? Once a backstabbing piece of shit, always a backstabbing piece of shit. I haven't forgotten, nor am I ever gonna forgive him for, what he did to the Army of the Gods.
I know what you're saying, folks. "Jack, why are you bringing this up in the first place?" Well, I'll tell ya. Because I know there's a lot of people both in the back and out in various parts of the country that think I'm just like those guys. I don't understand why they think that way but some apparently haven't forgiven me for what I did a couple years ago. Now I know how Hogan and Waltman must feel sometimes. Although I've never gotten the go away chants...anyway, I'm straying too far off topic here.
Point is that it's embedded into people's heads that just because I'm a big man, I'm an easy target. Easy to beat/pick off. Just like most of the other big guys here. The only difference between me and them, though, is that I may be one of your more agile big men you've ever seen. Sure, you may not see me dropkick anybody but that doesn't mean I can't do it. I can come off the top if I need to. I just don't do it. Why do I need to? I already have other things working for me. Power. Speed. Dominance. I am the Texas Heavyweight Champion, after all. I couldn't get there without what the kids would call "mad skillz", right?
I've never understood why people feel that way about big men. Have they been subjected to too many El Gigantes, Raja Lions, Ron Reises, post-1997 Kevin Nashes, and all the others that have failed that they might have been soured to the idea that a big man can actually do some good for a professional wrestling company? Paul Wight, too. How much of his career has been lost in a haze due to his issues with weight and injuries? I've never had those kinds of concerns. I've never been injured in the ring. Never missed a match. Never really had a reason for someone to say "hey, Jack, maybe you should stand down and let someone else have the shot" other than out of jealousy, so don't I have a reason to brag? If the small yet vocal minority wants to believe that I don't it's more than their prerogative. The only difference is that I'm the champion and they're not.
I don't know what gets into certain people's heads. Maybe there's a desire to be better that can't manifest itself properly. Maybe their parents didn't raise them properly. Maybe they have mental issues. Maybe they just don't like people named Jack or who have the last name of Clinton. It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense. But what do you have to do? Rise above it. And that's what I've done. Again, I'm the Texas Heavyweight Champion. The only way you get this high is to rise above all the bullshit.
James Jackson? Never held this title. Never been a top champion for an extended period of time in his entire career. Why? Because he can't rise above it. All the bullshit he has in his life he creates for himself. And it eats at him and eats at him and eats at him until finally, inevitably, it causes him to collapse in on himself and he runs away to regrow whatever he feels he's lost. And then he comes back and does it all over again. It's a cycle with James.
Now, to those of you watching this, I have a question. Who do you think is the more deserving? Me, a guy who has his shit together, or James Jackson, a guy who obviously doesn't? If you say James Jackson, then I truly feel sorry for you. Because you obviously don't know actual wrestling talent when you see it. You're more content to see this company go back to the doldrums. But if you say me, you want to see this company go to heights it's never been before.
If you're in the latter group, then God bless you. Together we'll keep rising and get this company to a level no one could ever imagine. But if you're in the former group, then as far as I'm concerned you're just roadblocks and need to get the hell out of the way and quick. 'Cause you're gonna get run over by the momentum from my side. If you're undecided?
Well, if you're undecided, I would hope that you'd make the decision right quick. Because I'm still gonna be Texas Champion when the Main Event is over, folks...whether James Jackson likes it or not.
