He notices Vince's look and has him sit down.

Vince looks up.

"I don't mean to get all teary-eye like this, Jack. I'm sorry. I just can't take it anymore. Have you heard the stories? I brought them in here. I'm the reason that three men have been hurt. Lucky got in the hospital for awhile, then Kijar is still in the hospital, followed by Seth breaking his ankle. Its all my fault! The only thing I have left is Valerie, and I have to face her brother at Natural Selection! I can't handle this, Jack."

Clinton sits down and puts his arm around Vince.

Look, bro, you can't beat yourself up over this. Yeah, you did bring Kijar, Seth, and Lucky in here. Kijar trained you. You're all friends. Understandable that you feel a little guilty. But you need to understand this. Your responsibility ends there. You may have been responsible for bringing them in but you're not responsible for anything that may have happened to them. What happened didn't happen at your hand. It happened because some people couldn't handle a unit that was so well oiled and worked so well together and they felt threatened by it. Believe me, I've been where you are right now. Was there last year. It isn't a great feeling to have.

Jack pats Vince on the shoulder.

But the only way you can make this right is to get back on the horse and ride again. Yeah, you're facing Blake Snyder. Yes, your girlfriend is his sister. You feel conflicted, don't blame ya a bit. But you need to remember something. You offered him a place to be. You offered him an opportunity to belong to something big. And he refused your offer. For whatever reason, we don't know for sure. But he wouldn't accept your friendship.

Jack points at Vince.

Now you need to show him the consequences of that little spit in the face/stab in the back move. You didn't get where you are now by backing down and I'm gonna be damned if I let you do it now. You've got too much going for you, Vince. You can't let him win.

Vince wipes his eyes.

"I guess that's what I have to do Jack. Thanks for the advice... What are you thinking about the match against Robert Ravencroft?"

Let's just say that I'm a little less diplomatic about the entire situation than you were. And I guarantee things are gonna get ugly once I come out for my interview Saturday.

But I decided to go in a kind of different direction from the two out of three falls...we'll see what people think.

"Well, that man's done some very cruel things. I want you to know that I have your back if you need any help, as I'm sure you'd do the same for me. Again, thanks for the help."

Vince starts to walk away, hesitates, and then shrugs his shoulders, and walks away, closing the door behind him.
