to make a long story short, i had gotten ahold of some extra spending money. my folks wanted to do something nice for me for my birthday, in a couple weeks (approximately). they knew i had been looking for a DVD set that's a pain in the ass to get a hold of.

got the money on Tuesday/Wednesday of last week. spent the time looking for some DVDs. old man found something on a website....based out of LA, i guess. ordered the stuff on Thursday evening, approximately 7 PM my time. managed to get it in the mail today (Monday, early afternoon).

seriously fucking thrilled about it. not an easy DVD set to get ahold of. don't know if any of you are familiar with a series called Corner Gas. supposed to be based out of Dog River, Sask. i think it was on WGN, for awhile.

really hard DVD set to come across. many of the major stores will have a couple seasons available, but not the whole set. the official site for the show would sell the seasons seperately for nearly 200 bucks. most of the other sites would've been expensive, after figuring taxes & shipping.

got this after something like 3 full days. managed to get it for a little under 70 bucks American from the website, including shipping (2-3 day mailer).

seriously, i typically don't do internet purchases, but i'm seriously considering doing it a lot more often after this. i was expecting this to take a lot longer then it did. didn't expect to find it that cheap, either.

can you tell i'm in a happy mood?

Dry Canadian humor can only get you so far, IMO. Didn't mind the show.

the same could be said for just about any style humor. me personally, i like to mix it up a bit. some days, i prefer the dry humor. other days, i'd rather watch the raunchiest shows available.

Just be sure that you do your research before ordering from any site you may not have heard of before. Obviously, this site was reputable.

i admit that i took one hell of a risk. in fact, when i usually have something ordered, i typically go through stores i'm familiar with. in this case, i was looking for something that's hard to find in the States. the site in question was the only one that offered everything as a package for a decent price.

obvious reasons for concern apply. you never know who'll screw you over.
