Scene opens with an unimpressed looking Brenda Price holding a microphone and sitting on a stool in front of a Natural Selection banner; beside her stands the circa 1990s television and VCR on its rolling cart.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Y Kores asked me for this interview time and, once again, you can see they are nowhere to be found. I showed up here to find this TV, with a note stuck to it that says, and I quote, [Price holds up a piece of paper with the tape still attached and reads] “We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are currently focusing on our match at Natural Selection and were unable to clear a spot in our schedule for you. However, this video should answer any questions that you have.”
So, I suppose my talents are going to be put to use by pushing a play button. Fantastic.
Price sighs in resignation and presses play. The television starts playing the Y Kores entrance video, with “You Better Pray” by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus playing in the background. The scene fades and we can see on our screen what is playing on the television.
The voice we hear is that of IP Freely’s. As the entrance video ends, the camera focuses on Freely, who is moving his head back and forth, obviously reading from a teleprompter.
Natural Selection. It is “the process in nature by which, according to Darwin's theory of evolution, only the organisms best adapted to their environment tend to survive… while those less adapted tend to be eliminated.”
On October 9th, live from the Gordietorium in Fort Worth, Texas, the professional wrestling world will be presented with a working example of this principle, with four matches pitting teams of competitors against each other in a bid to see who is the individual perfectly adapted for survival in this relentless environment.
One of these matches will see the Classic Rockers - Captain Danny Palis, Alex Daniels and the Ally Ratz – take on the Modern Rockers – Captain Zachary Smith and the SNW Texas Tag Team Champions Y Kores.
Y Kores have already demonstrated their dominance in Sports Nutz Wrestling by becoming the first all-female team to hold the Texas Tag Team Championships. However, at Natural Selection they will have to adapt once again to a new environment; Y Kores will be joined by a fourth teammate with whom they have had little experience, and they will be facing off against not only their recent and familiar foes Alex Daniels and The Alley Ratz, but also Danny Palis, another near-uncharted competitor for them.
Can Y Kores acclimatize themselves to this new scenario? Will they be eliminated one after another, opening the door for another team to stake a claim to the Texas Tag Team Championships? Or, perhaps Y Kores has already been adapting, and what we will see at Natural Selection is the culmination of their ongoing evolution.
The scene now jumps back and forth between clips of recent SNW episodes with Freely’s narration over top, and clips of an apparently recent interviews with the individual members of Y Kores.
On July 24, at Summer Bash, “The Assassin” Rory Kotch won the match for herself and “Everyone’s Favourite Canadian Lady” Adriana Samu, crowning them, and, by virtue of the Freebird Rule, “The Other Girl” Petrina Rotchester, the SNW Texas Tag Team Champions.
I didn’t even realize that I had von at first. Not until Petey came out vith Xander. I vas hurt, as vas Adriana, but ve vere too excited to care.
I didn’t see Rory come down with the belts. I was on the outside trying to get my bearings. And then, suddenly, Petey and Xander were out there hauling me to my feet and the fans were going crazy. I don’t think I really knew we had won until someone put the title around my waist.
The minute Rory hit the mat I jumped outta m’seat and ran down the ramp. I was so freakin’ excited I could hardly contain m’self. I didn’t know it at the time that I was a Champion, too – I was just so excited that after all the bullshit with the Alley Ratz in the last few weeks that we’d triumphed, and now we finally ‘ad some gold for Y Kores.
At the time, it seemed like the end of an epic battle. We had been going back and forth with The Alley Ratz after their cowardly attack on us, and now we finally had a solid one-up on them.
I guess they vere not really satisfied. After all, ve did not really beat Eddy and Tvitch. Ve just ended up on top of a big brawl.
Y Kores faced off against Alex Daniels and the Alley Ratz on the August 7th episode of Saturday Night Onslaught.
We lost that match, plain and simple, ‘cause o’ the boys’ distractin’ us. They were dickin’ around wi’the titles, and buggin’ Xander. We couldn’t focus on the task at ‘and and it cost us the match.
Ve try to go into every match vith a clear idea of vhat tricks our opponents are goink to try to pull, but sometimes ve give our opponents too much credit and think they might just vant to wrestle a good, clean match. And sometimes ve are wronk.
We don’t have a problem doing what we have to to win. If our opponents are going to lie and cheat to get the upper hand, we will match them. However, we always give them the benefit of the doubt to fight a fair fight. That week we made a miscalculation, and we were not going to let it happen again.
The scene returns to Freely, still reading his teleprompter.
It was clear that Y Kores’ compatriots had a few tricks up their sleeves, but the ladies were unprepared for what would happen at Saturday Night Onslaught on August 21, where Petrina Rotchester was scheduled to face off against a previously untested opponent, Danny Palis.
Sneaky f***in’ bastards.
This was war. Plain and simple. They declared war.
It vas enough that they attacked us for no reason several veeks before that, out of the blue. Now they had blind sided us again, this time pullink in an accomplice. Ve vere irate.
We already knew as soon as we saw the card for Guys Night Out that we were going to have to be prepared for everything
It was Rory’s match, but all three of us got in the gym that week and played out every scenario an’ we thought we were ready.
A few days later, at Guys Night Out, it was Alex Daniels, with the Alley Ratz by his side, against Rory Kotch, with the rest of her stable, in an arm wrestling match.
You know, I had always prided myself on being a clean competitor. I try to abide by the rules. I try to prove myself without being sneaky or offending the officials. I would rather lose a match cleanly than win it because I cheated. But above all, I would rather remain champion.
Somethin’ ‘ad to give. We know the rules are there for a reason, but we’re Champions, damnit. We worked ‘ard for those titles an’ we weren’t gonna let those sneaky bastards steal ‘em from us.
Just like in previous instances vhere our opponents used extraneous influences to affect the outcome of the match, ve knew that ve had to lower ourselves to their level. They can only beat us vith the added advantage of cheatink, so ve had to take that advantage avay.
On August 28th’s Main Event, The SNW Texas Tag Team Champions Y Kores took on the Alley Ratz, and for the first time since the ladies won the titles, the SNW fans were treated to a textbook example of adaptation.
Our homework had certainly paid off, and we had been prepared for Eddy and Twitch’s dirty tricks, but Zachy Smith showed up at just at the right moment and everything just fell into place.
By then ve knew vhat vould be happenink at Natural Selection, and ve had briefly discussed gettink to know Comrade Smith a little better after this match, but he made the first move and ve vere very happy he did.
Thank goodness for Zachy! There’s nothin’ better than a partner that doesn’t even ‘ave to be asked to be on the same page. We completely lucked out with’im.
With the Texas Tag Team Championships securely around their waists, the next challenge was focusing on the upcoming Natural Selection and the challenges that the SNW management had placed before the members of the Modern Rockers before then. At Guys’ Night Out on September 11th, the ladies of Y Kores once again showed their fans the definition of adaptation when Danny Palis and Zachary Smith squared off.
My darlink Xander returned the favour paid to us by Comrade Smith, and as far as everyvone vas concerned, our alliance vas solidified.
Here’s the deal – if we can fight a fair fight we will. But Palis and Daniels and especially Eddy and Twitch have made it so that we are at a disadvantage if we follow the rules. So out goes the rule-book.
That’s what ye get when ye mess wit’us, love. Ye get bashed in the ‘ead with a chair. It’s a simple rule, but people keep breakin’ it, an’ we ‘ave to keep enforcin’ it.
Last week on Saturday Night Onslaught was the last chance Y Kores would have to show the Classic Rockers that they mean business, and the first and final opportunity any of the ladies would have to work with Zachary Smith before Natural Selection.
I von that match fair and sqvare. And that is our point, exactly. Tvitch tried to fight a clean match and I dominated. The only vay he can beat me is by cheatink, and had he tried I vould have pulled out my...assistant. He did not pull any tricks and so neither did I.
On the other ‘and, if Eddy is stirrin’ up shit on the outside, Xander might ‘ave to get involved. Or a chair. Or a pipe. Or whatever’ll work. If ye cheat, we cheat, too. It ain’ complicated.
That brawl actually just made me even more excited for Natural Selection. It was obvious that the Classic Rockers were frustrated with their lack of success at Saturday Night Onslaught and that they were worried about Natural Selection. They tried to take us out, to beat us down; they showed us their insecurities.
It’s true, ve don’t know Comrade Smith very vell, but ve know him a little, and ve know a lot of thinks about our opponents, too, and at the end of the day ve vill do vhat ve alvays have done – use our knowledge to our advantage.
Ye see, love, wrestlin’ ain’ always about who’s the better fighter. Sometimes it’s about who knows the most. Palis, Daniels and the Ratz are not competitors to be laughed at; they’re good. But the difference maker in this match is gonna be our knowledge.
The scene comes back to the backdrop where IP Freely had been reading the teleprompter. Now we see “Everyone’s Favourite Canadian Lady” Adriana Samu flanked by “The Assassin” Rory Kotch and “The Other Girl” Petrina Rotchester. Manager Xander Nova is standing just behind Kotch in the background. All three ladies are wearing jeans with each other’s official SNW shirts, and all of them have their titles and replica title around their waists. They each take turns reading the teleprompter now.
When Y Kores won the SNW Texas Tag Team Championships, they were confident in their abilities as wrestlers and their chemistry as a team and a stable. As we have got closer to Natural Selection, the ladies have found that simple talent and cohesiveness are not going to be enough to get the job done.
Faced vith the adversity of opponents who vill use any means to get a vin, includink recruitink other members of the SNW roster to join their cause, Y Kores have had to adapt. They have had to take avay the advantage the Classic Rockers have gained by cheatink and usink outside interference.
At Natural Selection, the SNW Texas Tag Team Champions’ll ‘ave to use everythin’ they’ve learned in the last two months to adapt to this environment; an environment not just filled with some of the best wrestlers SNW has to offer, but also desperate cowards, unscrupulous cheaters an’ sneaky f***in’ bastards.
The ladies now speak to the camera, ad libbing.
The qvestion is not vhether or not Y Kores vill adapt and avoid eliminated at Natural Selection.
Along with Zachy Smith, faced with the new challenges this little feud with the members of the Classic Rockers ‘ave presented, and based on the evidence we’ve just presented, we think it’s obvious that the Modern Rockers have adapted already.
The real question of Natural Selection is who is the best adapted? Who will fulfill the Darwinian criteria of Survival of the Fittest? Will my agility be too much for the Classic Rockers to handle? Will Rory’s cunning overcome any antics they can present? Will it be Petey’s balls-to-the-wall style that will bowl over the competition? Perhaps Xander Nova’s support on the outside will be the difference maker. Or maybe Zachy Smith will be the missing piece to the puzzle of evolution, with that one little adaptation that puts us over the top.
Regardless, it is clear that vhile the Classic Rockers have been executink the same plan this whole time, the Modern Rockers have been learnink and adaptink. It’s not vhether or not Y Kores and Zachy Smith are adapted, it’s vhich vone of us is the best adapted to survive elimination.
On October 9th, we’ll be brinin’ what we’ve learned as a group, and what talents we ‘ave as individuals. This match is the culmination of everythin’ that’s ‘appened in these last two months; all of the environmental changes, all the necessary adaptations. When the dust settles and the bell is rung, The Modern Rockers will be standin’ wi’their ‘ands raised in victory, the result of the ultimate Natural Selection.
The scene fades with Y Kores standing proud as their entrance music plays again and the credits roll.
We come back to Brenda Price, still sitting beside the television. She is glaring at something past the television and the shot widens to show IP Freely shaking his head and smiling.
Wow. That really turned out great, didn’t it? Those ladies did a bang-up job!
I can’t even believe this. How did you get them…?
Get them? They asked me! They paid me, too! They’re great, those girls, you know!
Price scoffs angrily and storms off the scene, leaving IP Freely confused and the television in static as the scene ends.

Donnelly climbs to the belts, that Rory Kotch is unhooking. Donnelly kicks Kotch a few times, causing her to lose balance with her hands. She is dangling by her feet. Donnelly attempts to unhook the belts, which he does, but instead of grabbing them, Kotch swings forward, and grabs the belts from Donnelly's grip. The bell rings, and Donnelly goes for a Hurricanranna on the winner. The move is hit successfully, sending both of them to the floor below. The belts are still around the arm of Rory Kotch, and the bell has already rung.

Y Kores faced off against Alex Daniels and the Alley Ratz on the August 7th episode of Saturday Night Onslaught.
On the outside…Twitch kept Nova distracted, as Eddy went to ringside, and grabbed the two tag team title belts…Petrina Rotchester saw Twitch arguing with Xander Nova, so she got off the apron, and addressed the situation. Kid Thunder was in the corner, channeling for the Thunderbolt on Rory Kotch. Adriana Samu stepped inside the ring, to help her partner, but instead, saw Eddy and dove out of the ring with a Twisting Splash, taking him down. Kotch, on the inside, avoided the Thunderbolt, and went to the corner for a tag. Her partners weren't there, so, she turned around, and Alex Daniels was able to hook her up and hit the Thunderbolt for the three count and the win for his team.

It was clear that Y Kores’ compatriots had a few tricks up their sleeves, but the ladies were unprepared for what would happen at Saturday Night Onslaught on August 21, where Petrina Rotchester was scheduled to face off against a previously untested opponent, Danny Palis.
Danny grabbed [Rotchester’s] arm, placing her in an arm wrench, then took her down into the King Buck. She couldn't hold on too long, and the ropes were nowhere near. She was forced to submit.
Winner: Danny Palis
The shot switches back to the ring, where Danny Palis is unloading shots on the head of Petrina Rotchester. Xander Nova hops onto the apron, but Palis scouts the opportunity, and pushes him to the ground outside. Suddenly, "The Assassin" Rory Kotch, and "Everyone's Favorite Canadian Lady" Adriana Samu are shown running down to the ring. Just as they near it, "Kid Thunder" Alex Daniels, and the Alley Ratz jump out from the crowd and start attacking them until they fall to the floor…Inside the ring, Palis whips Rotchester into the corner and immediately follows up with a running back elbow, then immediately grabs her and nails her with the Knox City Knockout. Outside the ring, Kid Thunder knocks Samu out with the Thunderbolt, and the Alley Ratz knock Kotch out with a Double Fisherman's Buster on the floor. Security runs down to check up on Xander Nova and Y Kores as Kid Thunder, the Alley Ratz and Danny Palis all walk to the back.

Just as both competitors set their arms on the pedastal, Daniels takes a cheap shot right at Kotch. This causes a brawl…Alex Daniels and Rory Kotch begin trading blows. Twitch and Eddy both clothesline Petrina Rotchester and Adriana Samu respectively over the ropes. Xander Nova runs out of the ring and over to check on Samu and Rotchester as the Alley Ratz high five each other. They hop over the top for a double diving splash, taking down Y Kores as Xander gets out of the way. Meanwhile, Alex Daniels has Rory Kotch up for the Thunderbolt, but Kotch slips out of it and stalks him, waiting to hit the Iron Curtain. She goes for it, but Daniels scouts it and moves out of the way. She crashes to the mat and when she turns around, he hits a running avalanche against the ropes, causing them both to the tumble to the outside. Officials run down to the ring, and begin splitting everyone apart from one another.

Twitch and Eddy work over Rotchester, stomping away at her as referee Danny Travers yells at Eddy to get back into his corner. As the ref is distracted with Eddy, Twitch grabs a hold of Rotchester's head and holds her between the ropes, allowing Danny Palis to gross her out as he grabs her by the head and plants an unwanted kiss on her lips. She rolls over, about to gag as Twitch picks her up and bodyslams her to the canvas.
As Twitch locks Rotchester in a surfboard stretch, Zachary Smith storms out to ringside to a nice pop from the crowd.
Zachary is down at ringside, yelling at the ref and pointing over at Danny Palis, telling the ref what Palis did to Petrina Rotchester…Rotchester makes the tag to Samu at the same time that Eddy tagged Twitch, allowing Samu to jump up and springboard off the top rope and knock Twitch down with a springboard clothesline to a big pop from the crowd. Danny Palis hops up on the ring apron, and Samu runs and nails him with a jump kick to the head, sending him crashing into the security barricade on the ringside floor. Kid Thunder hops up on the ring apron as well, and Samu knocks him down to the floor as well with an enziguri kick to the back of the head. Samu turns around, only for Twitch to knock her down with a front dropkick.
Rory Kotch throws her pipe into the ring, but Twitch intercepts it. Twitch is taunting her with it. He doesn't notice Xander Nova sneaking over and handing Samu the championship belt that Rory Kotch had handed to him earlier. Twitch turns around, and Samu knocks him out cold with the Texas Tag Team belt to a huge pop from the crowd. Samu throws the belt back over to Kotch as Rotchester goes back to her corner, freeing up the ref who slides in to make the count. ONE... TWO... THREE!

Xander Nova rushed over to help Smith up, prompting Palis to run to the outside and shove Nova down to the ground before picking Smith up and rolling him into the ring. Palis picked Smith up and drove him down into the canvas with a powerbomb, but elected not to go for a pin as he saw Xander Nova getting up. Palis couldn't see it, but Nova was clutching a steel chair to his chest. The ref tried to stop Palis from approaching Nova, but Palis shoved the ref down. Palis then went to grab Nova, only for Nova to smash the steel chair over his head, busting Palis wide open as he fell down to the canvas. Smith rolled up, saw that Palis was down and out, and went for the pinfall as referee Mike Croft recovered to count the one-two-three.

Kotch vs Twitch
Twitch backed away into the corner as Rory Kotch got back up to her feet. Twitch charged in, but Rory caught him with a quick chokeslam. She got to her feet almost instantly after the chokeslam and picked Twitch up by his head, whipping him into the corner. After she punched him in the head a couple of times, she lifted him onto the top rope, then hit a massive superplex. Both competitors were down and out as the referee began to count. 1...2...3...4...5...6... Both Rory and Twitch made it to their feet at the same time. Twitch tried to grab hold of Rory, but to no avail as she hit him with the Iron Curtain and went for a quick cover.

I von that match fair and sqvare. And that is our point, exactly. Tvitch tried to fight a clean match and I dominated. The only vay he can beat me is by cheatink, and had he tried I vould have pulled out my...assistant. He did not pull any tricks and so neither did I.
Samu/Smith vs Daniels/Palis
Smith seemed to have the match won after a brainbuster, but Danny Palis ran in and broke it up. Samu ran in and tackled him to the ground, and they rolled to the outside, where Eddy was ready and pounced on Samu, stomping away at her. Xander Nova came running over and tackled Eddy to the ground to a loud pop from the crowd. Zachary Smith then picked Kid Thunder up and hit him with the Killswitch, then went for the pin. ONE... TWO... THREE!

On the other ‘and, if Eddy is stirrin’ up shit on the outside, Xander might ‘ave to get involved. Or a chair. Or a pipe. Or whatever’ll work. If ye cheat, we cheat, too. It ain’ complicated.

Out in front of the Gordietorium, we see Danny Palis, Kid Thunder, and the Alley Ratz all brawling with Zachary Smith and Y Kores. Things really get out of hand as Petrina Rotchester throws Danny Palis onto the hood of a parked car, with the back of Palis' cowboy boot kicking a slight crack into the windshield.
