I guess so...I don't know if Chris Jericho is necessarily game show host material, but I may just watch Downfall now.

i have a hard time imagining him as a game show host, as well. i can see him doing a lot of TV work, just not that.

Well, yeah. He's done so much over the years (I thought he was pretty good in his work for VH1 on some of their specials), but emceeing? Wait and see.

This might work out. In all honesty I miss the old wise cracking Jericho that has been forsaken for this new angry Jericho we see now. I'm going to give it one show, and we'll see from there.

I'll say it again- his current "JERICHO SO SERIOUS" character, no matter how many times you put a title on him, is still akin to putting a 24-karat gold bar on a turd.

he used up the wisecracking character. couldn't do anymore with it. being serious was the best option available, IMO.

I don't understand how you can "use up" your best gimmick. I mean, The Rock never changed what made him money. Ditto Stone Cold.

problem is with WWE they never give people enought mic time to craft a gimmic anymore

Didn't Jericho do some sort of music show for Fox a few years ago? I think he was a contestant, not the host but I still remember he was pretty awesome in it.

Stone Cold & The Rock also got out of the business before their characters became stale. The Rock was a pretty standard face, when he first debuted in WWE. took awhile before he really took off with The Rock character. even then, his character took plenty of time to truly develop into what we remember it. Stone Cold's character, much like the Rock's, did plenty of evolving, during the time he used the character. if you look at the actual time they used their characters, it really wasn't for all that many years. now, in Jericho's case, he had used the same character when he joined WWE that he had in WCW. there really wasn't any change to how he did things. he had used that character as far as i can remember. i seem to think that his "best gimmick" was used far longer then the Rock or Stone Cold gimmicks. |
